It cost close to �9 Billion, to build the Channel Tunnel, which is only 31.35 miles in length.

This would put the cost, at todays prices, of building a 3,100 mile long tunnel at �890 billion.

It's just a pipe dream.....

Stuey, the cost according to the link you gave is estimated to be $80 billion to $175 billion, and thats dollars.

They must have some pretty shrewd accountants working on this project...!!
