The same guy that made/was Borat has made a new movie that's about to come out sometime soon. I saw an advert for it last night that states "..Ron Paul" and then "bruno" says something along the lines of "You're a dangerous man, Ron Paul" and eventually it cuts to Mr Paul saying "Get out of here" and "This has ended!"

So either this movie is going to portray him as a bad guy that makes a fool of himself, or it's going to somehow make him look good... which I really don't expect.

Either way it's more publicity than he got while running a huge campaign to be president, and there's a good chance it will make a ton of people angry, but they'll already look like fools.

It's in the first few clips of this one...
www.youtube.com...

And you can watch one of the promos with an RP mention by the news reporter before it actually starts here

I'm not advocating anything illegal, but wait until you hear reviews before you pay to watch this movie, and if it isn't Pro-Ron Paul, watch it online or wait until you can see it for free. If anyone deserves our money, it definitely is not the people trying to make "this movement" look bad.

its probably not going to be good.

i dont think it will have anything actually political, rather just slapstick dick and fart jokes that he is famous for. and this movie seems like he will be doing those things as a gay this time.

sbc has always had a tendancy to piss people off for no reason other than his own brand of humor. i just find it bad taste that he would do that to ron paul, one of the actual politicians that matter in this country.

then again. sbc isnt from this country so whatever, he was funny in borat (even if it was filmed in Romania lol instead of Kazakhstan)

Personaly i love watching him doing Borat, funny as you like.....but pretty much anyone who he interviews comes off in a bad way or ends up looking really really stupid.

Now then.....where did i put my mankini?

This looks complete crap, I don't think this is even going to make it into the movies charts, I expect a quick dvd release too, wich will probably end up in the bargain bin in a month.

But maybe that's the WHOLE point.

Sasha Baron Cohen is a very clever man, maybe by putting Ron Paul onscreen, people will think... 'hmm who is this guy?'

Besides, it's far funnier to see Ron Paul at the end of a joke, than an obvious target like [insert popular target here]?

I highly doubt it.
This will surpass Borat in sales and popularity and craziness i think.
This looks hilarious and i think it will be a huge success...

Borat did well over there (USA) didn't it?

This looks as funny if not funnier and i guess you either "get it" or you don't.

You're joking right?

The film looks very funny. In an age of politically correct 'ooh we can't do that' or 'ooh we can't say that' , Sasha Baron Cohen once again shows us how to laugh at ourselves (our own racist, sexist, and biased selves AND also a chance to laugh at everyone else)... This is more than just shock value folks.... Behind the obvious slap stick humour lurks some serious biting satire.

Just look at the chicken in the subway sketch in Borat for example....

The guy's a genius.

No... Clever in how he tackles everyone's predictable reactions to a scenario. His lightning fast wit, his ability to remain in control of a situation whilst at the same time looking like he is the fool. Hi sheer bravery, his ability to laugh at himself and bring many taboo's into the lime light.

I'm sorry, maybe you should go back to watching friends or something....

(Oh and if you cannot understand Sasha Baron Cohen, then i dread what you'll think about Chris Morris's up and coming 'four lions' movie)*

www.independent.co.uk...

* 'who' I hear you say.... Yeah go back to watching friends at least there's a laughter track you can be prompted to react to.

Thank you, it actually does sound pretty funny, but some of it can/might get blown out of proportion.

First off, the article is titled "Ron Paul's insane cameo in the the upcoming Bruno movie"

It also goes on to say "As Paul is walking away, you can hear him say, several times, something like, "This guy is a queer!" "The word queer comes out of his mouth three or four times," says an attendee."

Followed by "Mills, who was present at the taping, did elaborate on the "queer" line. "I heard him say 'weird,' " she wrote in an e-mail. "

lol thats messed up. he tries to seduce ron paul!!

haha. first off... dont do that to people from texas.... hahaha

sounds like that girl got fired for setting this up too, or at least i would have haha.

sbc is funny, but its that uncomfortable humor that makes everyone mad.

like when he butchered the star spangled banner at a rodeo. i thought people were going to drag him behind their truck hahaha.

Ron Paul said he should have punched the guy in the nose. What happened was he showed up to a set for an interview, they lead him to a bedroom set to "wait" for the interview, "Bruno" comes in and starts undressing right in front of him etc, and Ron Paul storms out.

I think I'd not be happy either if people set me up for such things. Apparently he thought he needed to take it "up a notch" and went a bit beyond saying stupid things.

They are using Ron Pauls name for publicity, but I think it's going to backlash on Sasha. It's borderline sexual harassment, and not really funny. So you took a politician to a room, set them up in a fake situation and made sexual advancements towards them? Where is the joke?

Borat was ok. Some of the moments were extremely funny, and other parts of it were extremely not funny and just plain out stupid - like the whole Pamela Anderson bit at the end - dumb. I haven't seen any preview to this movie that I thought was funny. And usually movies show the funniest moments in the previews.

I'll probably check it out when it hits HBO like I did with Borat. I'm not a big movie goer anyway.

I will see this movie. I love Cohen's movies and skits, he is hilarious! It will be funny to see who he has in it and what all their reactions are to him filming them.

In order to put it in the film, Ron Paul had to sign off on it. So, I doubt that he'll sue. I also heard an interview with Ron Paul about this and he didn't really seem too bothered by it--it just surprised him. He was even chuckling about it.

Well, I dunno either way, but I wonder if maybe he signed off before it happened. I'm in no way involved in that industry etc, but I would think it would be something you would sign off on before hand. As who would want to waste the time of doing an interview or whatever, and then the person refusing to sign the waiver after if they didn't like the way things went. I honestly have no clue, but I would personally expect it to be that way. And Ron Paul did agree to an interview with them and so forth, which shows a pre-arranged agreement. Just what he got was obviously not what he thought he was agreeing too.

Ron Paul isn't going to sue. I can say that much for sure. It would be political suicide. He's just gonna grin and make as much light of it as possible. You can pretty much slander a politician all you want because of public opinion. He would end up looking like the "bad guy" without a sense of humor etc. So I agree with you on that point.

But if that happened to me, I'd consider it to be sexual harassment. I'd probably also not make a big deal about it etc, but I'm not one who wants to punish people etc. I'd just say - that's a pretty wrong thing to do to someone.

I still think it's going to backfire on him. What I seen of the scene wasn't really funny. The entire scene is a gay guy luring an old straight man into a fake bedroom and undressing in front of them etc. Lame setup with no punch line. That's a far cry from taking a dump and putting it in a bag, inviting a "hooker" to a dinner party, and calling the retired guy retarded and such among a bunch of stuck up people who think theirs doesn't stink. That stuff was funny. This - not so much.

If you read the post outlining the "Ron Paul" section it looks to be funny as all get out.

At least Ron Paul handled it well.

The baby thing really cracks me up...when they ask him how he adopted the baby he replys he traded his Ipod for the baby...

When asked how he named the child ..he replies he gave the baby a typical African American name.

What name is that?

OJ!

And the black lady flips her lid...that was funny.

This is all done in context of humor. Maybe he is the British version of Lenny Bruce.

It was funny! Turns out, though, the child ("OJ") is her real life son.

Hard to tell sometimes where the set-ups end, and the pranking begins...same with Dr. Paul. He may have been in on the joke....

(edit) 'cuz just saw badmedia's earlier post...who knows, maybe ole Ron has a wicked sense of humor?

If it is set up he does a masterful job which makes him even more of an artist...or Joker.

He seems to be the Joker archetype...or Tarot. lol

I'm a big fan of Ron Paul. Great understanding of the constitution, economics and so forth. But I seriously doubt he thought it was funny. I just don't really see "sense of humor" as being on his resume.

I think he could probably laugh at himself for being fooled though.
