We must discuss a Nuclear War seriously..this aint Fallout 3..there is no Save Game

I'm sorry - there will not be a nuclear war. Don't get me wrong, some nukes can be dropped here and there.

Remeber who controls countries - elite. They control the government along with the president himself. You all know this. Ask yourself why would they like to destroy their own habitat? Is it fun to live underground? Those people want power, which means a small nuclear conflict is "acceptable" - for them.

But global thermonuclear conflict? - No. I don't think so. And the more you think about it, the more fear it creates. The more fear you have in you - the more probably such a scenario becomes.

When I was kid we were growing up with nuclear war and the treat of it..

I really like Fallout 3, unless i dont convert into a ghoul i think i kind of liked that world, anarchy and chaos, just roaming the wastelands and shooting/looting people but ok i am going to look for a safe Vault in the mean time...

Oh yes, I agree with you that there is a cabal running things from the shadows and they love to remain nameless. However, whenever a nuclear exchange is utilized it opens Pandora's box and then all rules as we know them are off. That limited exchange can turn into an escalation in a matter of hours. One country points the finger at the other and so on and so forth. Nuclear weapons have never been used since the Second World War and we have no idea what the ramifications would be if they are used now. All we can hope for is that they are never used and they collect dust down in their silos.

No, there will be no nuclear war or nuclear attack on the USA. Regardless of the anti-American propaganda to the contrary, the USA still stands as the only superpower on planet Earth.

Like a goose that lays golden eggs, the USA provides money, food, new technology and medicine to the far reaches of the globe, and no matter how much the rest of the planet hates American superiority and authority, don't you know that people the world over still have their hands out to the good old USA.

Even the most tunnel-visioned terrorist realizes that destroying the shining city on the hill will spell death for billions of her dependents. It's tough to sell your jihad when the entire population of the planet suddenly hates you for killing the golden goose. Don't cha know.

So, don't count on nuclear holocaust for America.

Now, over in Europe, where they produce...well...come to think of it, Europe doesn't really produce anything of indispensable value, but it has pretty much left itself an easy mark with its ridiculous open border policies. If there's going to be a tactical nuclear strike anywhere, it'll be in Europe — probably France or Spain, possibly the UK, although vaporizing poor little Britain wouldn't accomplish much, what?

But, yeah, a nice soft target is Europe, there's nothing vital to the survival of the world located there, but civilization will be outraged when it goes poof! I'm sure it'll be in the headlines for weeks, and it'll be a springboard for even more spineless socialist pandering to the terrorists, which is exactly the effect they're seeking.

I don't think any other targets would be considered. I mean, you can't nuke Uncle Sam, the guy who feeds your family, right, but you can sure as hell nuke Europe, which is almost as good as America...plus, ya don't have to drive so far.

I'm too poor to have a high-speed connection so I didn't watch the whole video, but there have been many many movies made about the horrors of war and of nuclear war in particular. It is horrible, and yes it would be very horrible if it happened.

Per reports I have read, powerful groups have been trying to start a new war practically since the last major war ended. It seems they just can't get enough of it. Most of us would judge them to be insane. I know I would.

One theory goes that our best protection is to try to expose them.

There are also reports that "higher forces" exist that do not want war on that scale and would seek to squelch one if someone tried to start it.

There are things individuals can do to proof themselves up against radiation, etc. But personal "survival" does not seem like much of a consolation if the planet is lost, or if the survivors are forced into slavery or savagery.

Our best bet, as far as I can tell, is for us to do all we can to put this planet under the control of sane men (and women.) I really don't know that it's ever been done before. We have survived as a planet previously due to the checks and balances of opposing military forces. This has caused a lot of human suffering. I'd like to think there is a better way.

Your referencing the film I see, because the town of Sheffield is an industrial hub in England is it not? I am under the conclusion if one goes off anywhere in the world, over night, things are going to change world-wide. When the smokes settles, the world powers are going to start pointing fingers as to whom is responsible; and that is how it can escalate into large-scale nuclear war. We have to hope that day never comes but in recent news that may be all to likely.

If there's none accounted for then are they accounted by anyone? It takes * 1 * to tango now. I have reason to believe that at least a dozen weapons are out there in the wrong hands, some already planted waiting for the "go!" signal. How much do you want to bet one of our "closest" allies has made this so?

Be certain that our darkest image of demise is a simple plan by somebody, somewhere that will worm their way through life for years, decades to make it a reality. Ambition. That's all it takes. The will to make it happen will ensure it as a future event, no matter the prevention. There are people in this world, even in the "superpowers" that have the will, ambition and deep desire to make it so.

We will see above ground mushroom clouds in our lifetimes. Oh my, I remember watching this on television in the early eighties! I was a kid 7-8 years old maybe, and it scared the bejesus out of me. To this day I still recall scenes from this movie whenever I think of nuclear war.

Thank for posting this, I never thought I would get to see it again..

I was never aware of "Threads" until recently, it was "The Day After" that gave me many a sleepless night as a child. I didn't know what a nuclear weapon was until I watched that. Ignorance truly is bliss...

I can't think of a single thing that comes from your country that can't be made elsewhere. So please, enlighten me! And what exactly is there in America that's so necessary to the world's survival? Oh yeah, and don't forget the "Doomsday Vault" in Norway (that's a country in Europe btw). Pretty vital to mankind surviving a nuclear holocaust I'd say.
