Cash to become extinct as chips take off

www.news.com.au

CASH is accelerating down the path to extinction as new technologies threaten to mark the end of loose change within a decade.

Bank and credit union bosses say cash won't be alone, with wallets and credit cards also likely to disappear too.

They told The Advertiser's round table forum that cash and cards will be replaced by computer chips embedded in mobile phones, watches or other portable devices.

Yep. Looks like the end of cash is in sight. Toward a microchip we head, hooray! No doubt this is just a baby step toward implanted microchips, one of the main agendas for the new world order.

"So you can't go and buy a bottle of water from the deli with cash; you've got to go and buy it with your chip," he said.

Maybe Suprieme has something with the bank in the sky. Who is gonna need brick and mortar for anything other than the latest jingoistic souvenir quarter.

As a public service I would like offer my shed as a place that you can send/store your cash so that when the chip deal comes down you won't be stuck with alot of worthless coins, greenbacks, creditcards etc.
Beat the Rush and send your money to me early; space is limited.
Perhaps I can get one of those storage units out on highway 328 to take care of the overflow.

This is MADNESS I tell you!

I don't think that it really is the end of cash....at the moment.

You have to look at the fact that there are way to many possible technical faults with a technology like this, so I doubt they will completely abolish physical cash for something so risky.

wallets and cards disappearing too? perhaps all our licences will eventually be on this microchip too. if thats what they are implying.

looks like they are starting this off with low value purchased first, as a trial run i guess

"We're very close in countries around the world. If you go in to Hong Kong or Singapore, the low-value transactions have already disappeared. You can't go anywhere, like on public transport, without pre-purchasing a card.

Australian Central chief executive Peter Evers believes cash will be replaced for most transactions in five-to-seven years.

Just one step closer to a cashless society and subdermal implants. Many people already have them. I know some contain GPS tracking as well as medical history. There is even technology available that can kill the recipient by remote but I believe the patent is currently in dispute.

Biblical prophecy aside (All humans will be required to take a 'mark' and will not be able to buy and sell without it) that many believe will be an implant, the chips will make the people vulnerable to unreasonable taxes and tax rates.

No more cash transactions or under-the-table payments. Everything will be taxable and the government will know exactly what you make. Your 16 year old baby sitter that lives next door, the kid down the street you pay to rake your lawn, etc.

I don't know how far off it is or if the man quoted in the article (who admits it is his educated opinion), but I do know it will happen eventually.

Umm, how can we do our inland revenue forms?? I can see internet shoping gettin dodgy, most likley a chip reader somewere on the computer, and knowing computers, will bugger up within the first few months of taking it out of the box.

Still, at least their making it alot more easier and convieniant for the nice muggers, just one chip and they have the lot

this is ridiculous

so now we will have to use cartons of cigs as currency to get anywhere on the black market? oh well...

do not take that the wrong way, im just pointing out what will inevitably come from this...

'Green' dollars?

I don't know, but there always seems to be a way to circumvent the law. I'm sure we...uh....those 'druggies' aren'ttotally brain-addled!

New Zealand has steadily been going 'cashless' with millions of transactions a day on Eftpos machines. It ain't so bad and even rather convenient....but much easier to lose money through a 'banking error'.

How do you disable a chip once it's implanted in you? I'm not getting one but just saying that will be thriving business. No one in my family is going to get a chip period. This will lead to the barter system making a huge comeback. Babysit my kid and I'll wash your car. Easy.

Silly billy; drugs will be via digital injection.

This all started with passive RFID chips in bic razors at Walmart, a number of years ago; the most shoplifted item.

Now we have RFID chips in passports, registration plates, ingestible event markers (IEMs), etc, etc.

I feel that they are now ready to merge the two technologies together:

Database(s) + RFID

In the UK, EVERY single child's data now exists on a database called ContactPoint....except for MP's and celebrities kids...go figure

This isn't something that can happen overnight or even in a matter of months...Transferring what..Zillions? Quadrillions? from cash into "computerized chips" would be a real issue. They wouldnt have the resources for people to do such a thing. This may be what they NWO wants but I dont see this happening for quite some time. We will continue to use paper and gold.

Whats ridiculous is that they dont even know where they want to implant the device....watches? cell phones?

Can you imagine anything more ridiculous? What if you lose your watch and cellphone? Do you lose that as well....

What if someone takes your chip...They won't ask for I.D. so someone can get away with money crimes far easier....

This is too farfetched right now.

Im sure the dollar is on its way out and they will unveil a new coin or "Amero" that everyone's been talking about. I don't see anyone lining up for this.

hmm. perhaps given what you have said, an implantable microchip is the solution. no body can steal a microchip implanted in your body..

God this is unbelievable. I mean, it's kinda fun to speculate about New World Order, but I can't believe it's actually happening! Right in our face.

The people need to stand up to this.
