With the United States looking to cut defense costs and rethinking the way it fights wars, many defense companies are looking for international buyers to take the big, pricey weapons that the Pentagon no longer wants or needs fewer of. U.S. contractors are chasing some lucrative deals, but could also face some legal and political hurdles as they hawk weapons overseas.

Boeing Co. and Lockheed Martin Corp. are competing to sell fighter planes to countries such as India and Brazil. Boeing is trying to spark international interest in its C-17 cargo plane. Middle Eastern nations fearful of threats from Iran are bulking up on missile defense equipment from Lockheed and Raytheon Co.

Well times are rough here in America and we can't afford to spend the $1 trillion a year we have been spending on national defense so the first thing these guys do is shop our best weapons to the highest bidder. People if this is not proof positive globalization has destroyed America then I dont know what is. These international companies that are supposed to be American companies have sold us out. There is no loyalty to America just loyalty to the almighty buck. We have seen bailed out banks and auto industries ship millions of jobs over seas and most banks are only paying around 2% in corporate taxes. Now our defense industry is jumping on the international bandwagon now that the times are rough. Will someone please point out what globalization has done for America because I see NO good at all that has come out of this.

you sound like your surprised about this?

the gov sold out the people of the US in favour of the corporations, now in turn they are selling out the US gov the almighty dollar is the new religeon.

its ironic, that the weapons that US tax dollars helped to fund, could now possibly be used against it.
