Obama Met 'Muslim Brotherhood' Members in the USA

U.S. President Barack Obama met with members of Egypt's Islamist opposition movement, the Muslim Brotherhood, earlier this year, according to a report in Thursday editions of the Egyptian daily newspaper Almasry Alyoum.

The newspaper reported that Obama met the group's members, who reside in the U.S. and Europe, in Washington two months ago.

According to the report, the members requested that news of the meeting not be publicized. They expressed to Obama their support for democracy and the war on terror.

If this meeting was 'earlier this year' then he probably would have met with this 'Muslim Brotherhood' here in the USA. This wasn't something that happened during his trip to Egypt.

Almasry Alyoum - Egyptian Article

Special sources reported to Al Masry El Youm, that a delegation from the leadership of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) Association met with US President Obama, in Washington, two months earlier. This meeting was arranged in response to a request made by the MB's leaders in regards to the MB wanting to express their views concerning a number of current political issues.

The sources added that the delegation was joined by an Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood member who was living in the United States of America, as well as an Egyptian political leader who was living in a European country.

The sources referred to the fact that "The Muslim Brothers had requested that this meeting be confidential."

However, the article goes on to say that the leadership in Egypt highly doubt that the meeting took place because such a meeting could only happen with their approval. Either they are right ... or they are on an ego trip and refuse to see that other people are taking matters into their own hands.

On his part, Professor Mohammed Habeib, the first Vice-President of Muslim Brotherhood Association general leader, denied the occurrence of such a meeting.

Furthermore, Professor Habeib told Al Masry El Youm: "Such an event never happened and could never happen, as Muslim Brotherhood Association members outside Egypt seek our advice on every level."

They went on to call the Holocaust a MYTH.

The Muslim Brotherhood is banned in Egypt, and its members are routinely arrested, but Brotherhood-affiliated lawmakers hold 20 per cent of the seats in the Egyptian parliament as independents.

Members of the Brotherhood's parliamentary bloc attended the speech at the invitation of al-Azhar University and Cairo University, but the White House on Wednesday tacitly confirmed that the US government played a role in making sure they were invited.

Well, it would seem that Obama would be perfectly at ease meeting with these people, given his past associations with Ayers, Wright, and others.

I'll star and flag this just because I am beginning to believe that there is something to all of this.

This is what gets me thinking.
Obama made sure these guys were at the Cairo speech.
That's a strong signal from Obama.

I'm not much of an Obama is a Muslim person, but its starting to get interesting.

I will continue to be on the fence about this paticular issue, keep'em coming.

I think his religion is PANDER. Whoever he has in front of him at the time
is the group that he panders and plays to.

But I could be wrong. He could be Muslim at heart. We'll probably never know.

I agree, he is like that kid in High School who wants desperatley to be popular and goes around to each clique acting like them until he finds one that will accept him.

Where there's smoke, theres usually fire. Obama doesn't cease to amaze with his blatant behavior, showing clearly that he is just another pawn for the power pumpers.

Being a Brit whilst I'm aware of the 'Obama's a Muslim' school of thought etc I'm not really up to date on all the details.

But, as President Of The United States isn't it natural that he will have meetings with representatives from many different groups?
