just took off from nellis air force base.

obviously we get quite a bit of air traffic through here, but tonight has been somewhat special.

I didnt realize the came out here, but as I said 2 B-2 bombers, 1 B-1 bomber and 1 laser plane all within the last hour just departed form Nellis. I am assuming it is some sort of testing, but does anyone have any idea as to what drills they may be running?

The B-2s were fricken awesome...Just amazing to see.

I was at the park with my son when I looked up and saw (I am 95% sure) was the laser plane that has been featured in pop sci and discover channel. Thought that was odd. Then the rest of the show took place.

There has also been a plethora of c-130s the last few days.

just to add.. I drive a lot for my work and one of the areas I go is at the very northern part of North Las vegas. A few days ago ( believe tuesday)I was stopped at a stop light facing the mountains getting ready to turn left on the 215 (heading west) when all of a sudden 2 very very low flying odd looking planes that blended very well into the mountains and quiet as a mouse flew directly in front of me maybe 3-400 feet off the ground. (i could tell because they flew right along side the mountain). as soon as they got beyond the mountains they banked around them and flew out of sight never climbing an inch. Now, i know nellis is right there. I live less than 5 miles away and at the time of this particular sighting I was probably 10 miles away from nellis. These just stood out to me as odd because of how quiet and sneaky they seemed to be. And because they blended so well, I could not make out a "regular" jet fighteror Air force style plain. anyway, just thought I would share, maybe they are related to what we just witnessed a few minues ago.

to add:
my wife seems to think we havent had this many jets flying this late at night.

just noticed as well, they are all definitely heading in the same direction. A north west direction..

maybe someone could shed some light?

there has been a lot of strange air traffic in sacramento lately too. the only time it was overcast today i heard two planes fly lower than i've ever heard...but i couldn't find them! so i don't know exactly what they were...but definitely different than we are used to here. and i pay attention so i would notice these changes.
lots of black ops looking helicopters...swarming. creepy.
seems a storms a brewin

Possibly "pre-positioning" for operations related to future North Korean missle launches?

Maybe test out the ABM Laser on a "Real, Live" NK ICBM if the opportunity arises, then follow up with a couple B-1 launched cruise missles of our own if the NK missle is found to be carrying "something nasty".

Maybe even send a couple of steathy B-2's right into NK to deliver our "response" to "lil Kim's" temper tantrum:

"You've been warned, now you're going to get spanked. And Uncle China ain't going to stop us".

my first thought was red flag but the next red flag for Nellis isn't until july.

Probably just moving stuff around encase NK steps farther out of line.

well the military is very active now.

I seen some fighter jets taking off here in michigan heading south west and it's unusual air traffic we get..

we really don't get alot of air traffic of military aircraft flying over our house. We live about 23 miles away from a airforce base which is northeast from us.

From what I am hearing Is that their are rumors that are going around that North Korea is going to be nuking us sometime between now and end of july.

So i assume the military is really getting prepared for such a thing. I have friends in the military and this is what they are telling me.

If North Korea will nuke anything I hear the targets is LA or Las vagas. .

This is what I think it could be. I am not 100% sure but it could be this.

I am noticing a increase of military aircraft traffic. Usally we would see military craft fly over about maybe once every 4 or 5 months. We are in a runway path where the military planes start to descend but the runway that is towards us is not commonly used.

hope this helps any.

Unless your friends are high ranking members of the military, chances are they are just speculating. My father who works in Military Intelligneces and was in the DIA when he was in the Airforce normaly has his finger on the pulse of situations like this. No threats from NK to nuke us, at least not yet or at least that my father could tell me.

As for nuking LA or Las Vagas I doubt their ICBMs could reach that far, Maybe LA or the west coast put prob not Las Vagas.

Dont forget the Nellis Range is up by the test site, thats why you always see stuff heading northwest. The B-1 flew right over my house yesterday.

I saw another poster said red flag wasnt until July, is that 100% confirmed? I know from years past red flag was usually around the end of may or beginning of june.

Remember people, it's summer. Which also means it's Air show time. Some of these B2, B52, B1 and such could be heading to an air show. Chances are if your are seeing only one or two of said aircraft it is going to be displayed at an air show.

I'd say if you see a group of 3 or more then it may be for a deployment

I went ahead and asked my next door neighbor (whom is in the airforce) about all the activity. he said there was an exercise going on, and nothing to out of the ordinary. It may be just that, but still there has not been this much activity this year for sure.

I asked him abaout the "laser plane" that I was so sure I saw. he said more than likely it was a large radome at the nose of 1 of their 3 747s that are stationed there that are used for communications and radar. he also said they can pick up cell phone signals and listen in no problem...hahaha
they dont mind messin with people either...thought that was kinda funny.

the laser plane was a 747 as well with an extended or rather bulbous nose, so I guess thats why i mixed them up. he mentioned the airfoce is phasing out that whole project too. so more than likely it was indeed the communications jet.

that was my first thought, but i hadnt heard of anything going on soon, so i dont believe that has anything to do with it..besides there were way too many c-17s and big transport planes to go along with the other cool stuff
