David Carradine Dies in Bangkok

www.tmz.com

Legendary actor David Carradine was found dead in a hotel room in Bangkok, Thailand this morning.

According to Carradine's agent, the 73-year-old "Kung Fu" and "Kill Bill" star was in Thailand for a movie.

The agent told KABC, who broke the story, that he believes the actor died of natural causes.

TMZ last encountered Carradine back in March, when the guy -- who was always in a playful mood when we ran into him -- jokingly told our camera guy, "I could take you f"**kin' out man!"

RIP David...

This was one of my fav actors. I used to watch KungFu everyday. We will all miss him.

I wonder what movie he was shooting and if they will still finish it now that he passed away.

His Kill Bill Movies was some of the best ive seen. I wonder what the autopsy report shows.

Actor David Carradine has been found dead in the Thai capital, Bangkok.
A news report said the star of the 1970s TV series Kung Fu was found hanged in his hotel room and was believed to have committed suicide.
A spokesman for the U.S. Embassy, Michael Turner, confirmed the death of the 72-year-old Kill Bill actor.

Yeah thats what it said on the last link I listed. I just cant believe that someone like him would do that. This is just crazy. I'm sure there is much more to the story that will break later. I curious if he had some illnesses or something. It just does not make sense.

sad stuff this, carridine was a class act.

i just seen this 10-20 mins ago on the bbc news site, tbh i expect the cause of death to be changed to accidental suicide , by the sounds of it he was "experimenting" with himself and choked himself out .

it said that he was found with rope round his throat and genitals
.

ill rephrase that ...

"he was attempting to have a fruity wank"

see : Michael Hutchins and how he died, i have a funny feeling this is exactly the same sort of situation...

the technical term is "auto-erotic asphyxia"

There is just no way he could be into that kind of stuff at 72 years old. I'm sure he could get 10 Bangkok hoes if he wanted.

Well.... I guess weirder stuff has happened so who knows.

Another news article says...

David Carradine has appeared in over one hundred films, dozens of television movies and specials, and numerous stage productions. In what must surely have come as a shock to his fans, Carradine admitted in Spirit of Shaolin: A Kung Fu Philosophy: "I was a fake. When I left the [television] series [Kung Fu ] after four years I knew nothing about kung fu. At the time I did not understand it at all, and I was faking it all the time even though I knew the moves. I am an actor. We just thought we had a good story."

I'm not saying Houdini and David had anything in common but it was said that Houdini said the same things about being fake in his last moments.

I bet alot of actors go through this at some point. Feeling like they are fakes is the wrong way to think about it in my opinion.

from that quote, it does sound like he had a very negative / depressed view on his own work ... very sad as his work was amazing and that was the whole point of his work, to act at being something he is not . he done it alot more convincing that most actors these days as well.

doesnt answer the question why ..... my guess is, that like every one else in this universe, they sometimes get some dirty thoughts and boardem ... idle hands as they say,...,

I heard this earlier today and it made me really sad, to think he would take his own life. I haven't heard he was sick or anything.

If you grew up in the early 70's, you were a Kung Fu fan. Everything stopped while that show was on tv, you didn't even answer the phone. Of course, no one would have called during the show anyway.

This seems really suspicious, half naked, strangled (hanged) with a curtain cord in a closet. He always gave off this dark (brooding) aura. Unless it is disclosed that he had some terminal disease...I don't know, just a little shocked at the news. He'll be missed.

david carradine's death is extreemly sad for his fans
especialy those wishing for either a third tv series based on kung fu or even a movie based on it staring david carradine.

an actor's death seems always to be hard for people to accept. think of things like maralyn monroe and elvis. conspiracy theories have a tendancy to crop up. its as if we cant beleive that someone so famous could possibly commit suicide or to have accidents, therefore it must be murder. whether it is murder, suicide or accidental we will probably never know for certain.

who would have a decent motive to kill him? unfortunatlty like many actors he was typecast as a "martial arts" actor. he only had 2 tv series and 1 movei that i know of plus of course his currant move,. as such i can't see money being the motive (unless of course its about life insurance).

I read about this earlier, I still am shocked this happened. From interviews, he just never came across as the suicide type to me. Of course I never knew him, but still found it hard to believe. I considered him one of the cooler actors around. He also seemed like the type who would have been cool to hang out with, kind of how he was like in Kill Bill when he would tell stories. Very sad to hear his life end this way.

I know this is an old thread, but I just happened to be watching a movie called 'Evil Toons' which has David Carradine in it. I don't want to ruin the movie with a somewhat spoiler as It's called but, has anyone here seen it and noticed what takes place at the beginning? I find it somewhat interesting with what took place in real life and then we have that scene taking place back in 1992.
