I posted a similar thread on new yrs eve 2007/2008 . Exactly the same thing over chester on new yrs eve. Glowing orange light that faded out and came back on the same pattern in the sky then faded out at the exact same spot.

there were 5 other people with me that night who saw it and it was in the local paper. Someone wrote in and asked for anyone else who saw it to email, which i did but never received a reply.

Still dont know what it was

Have just seen in the paper that a woman has come forward saying that they were lanterns released at her wedding that you saw

Why do people even launch those stupid "lanterns" in the first place? What is the point? It's so stupid in my opinion. Where do the lanterns end up? On top of a seal on some beach somewhere once they fall to the ground? Isn't that considered pollution or littering or something? I think there should be a law prohibiting launching trash up into our atmosphere. What pleasure or satisfaction can one really get from letting some stupid bag with a candle inside of it float up into the air? How ridiculous.

Well, i happened to have lived in Grimsby all my life. I can't say I've ever seen anything unusual in the skies. I have a telescope and binoculars so i do look at the sky on a regular basis.

Without a picture it's obviously very hard to tell what they are. To me it does sound like something simple such as lanterns although the way they moved sounds unusual. Again, could just be a sudden gust of wind.

Interesting all the same and I'll definitely be looking out for anything.

So what? What does that prove? Maybe there hasn't ever been anything unusual in the skies of Grimsby until this recent sighting???

That's like someone who lived in Roswell saying, "I never saw anything crash into the desert here before 1947, so that must mean nothing crashed here in 1947."

It was a simple statement saying that i have never seen anything. It wasn't meant to prove or disprove anything. The fact that you have somehow turned that into some sort of bashing upon the topic is actually quite offensive to me.

I was merely adding to the thread to say that i have never experienced anything and that it is, obviously, quite unusual for Grimsby.

well considering we are near the coast and donna nook i dont think it is strange.the lincs east coast has always been a hot bed for ufos its just now that its being put into the lame light.i dont know why there is alot at this time.personally i think they might be test flying something over the coast way/donna nook.when the wind farm got hit there was rumours of the delta Taranis causing the crash.
