I, for one, because I can!!

Am terribly claustrophobic..
And must have Sunshine!!!!

In all seriousness: Was laying on my back by a lake one summer, 4 or so years old.
Storms were blowing in and I just started to visual the clouds breaking apart and allowing more sunshine through. Said clouds moved apart and away. No storm.

Years later, as an young adult, I experimented again with intent and success.
There is much more to this to relate. Am not one to toot me own horn, so to
speak. Perhaps I can add to this sometime.

Peace...

it looks like gravity waves to me, too, and they look entirely unnatural and incredibly man-made...

they're just too... unreal?

i mean, look at NASA's picture of one on wikipedia:

it looks like that "point" towards the left is causing it.......

...kinda resembles a boat skimming across the water creating waves/wakes...

I love clouds.

But, those are some scary looking clouds. I've never seen anything like that before.

Just not natural looking. Almost like something Hollywood would think up.

Perhaps years of filling the sky with metals and other chemicals -
causing a more serious plasma-type sky -
that is now virtually unable to adjust back to it's regular natural state?
Perhaps for electromagnetic weaponry?
Much easier to hide things, move things and cause havoc in a sky that is primed.

I live right south of lake Ontario and we have tons of heavy low clouds and I am a cloud watcher but never have seen these before here. I think they are so beautiful, the power of nature.

I've seen clouds like these recently (Past year or two) here in Nova Scotia.
I never knew what caused them to be that way- As, I'd never seen any clouds like them!

The pictures can't do them justice, when you see them in person- You have to just stop and stare.

Good post!

.
The point you see, is a mountain. Clouds skipping past it clip the tip of it, creating that rather cool effect.

I've seen clouds like that in the Chicagoland Suburbs where I live right after a storm that caused massive flooding on my school campus. Not so much the worm looking ones, but the one that looks like ripples on water in the sky... I've never seen anything like that since, but it was absolutely incredible!

I find this very interesting. About six weeks ago, I posted a thread on another forum about the strange clouds over Austin, Texas. I'd never seen the formation before. I described them like the inside of circus tents, with dimples pulled up to the sky as if by wires. Looking at the original post, the clouds looked precisely like the fifth and sixth pictures. I'm 38 and had never seen these formations until last month. They came about a week after some very severe weather, not that this is related.

Those clouds look purely demonic. Haven't seen anything like that ever and you may well be right about the chemtrails, and I might add what about the HAARP technology.

I've only seen them on my paintings, which are pretty apocalyptic landscapes

They just look like a more turbulent form of mammatus clouds.

I was expecting something more...

Those almost look like a variation of noctuliscent clouds! It's as if someone has 'bent' them or distorted them into those shapes! Hell, if those photos are real, they are pretty mind blowing.

What I would like these 'experts' at the BBC's request to answer, is how these clouds form? If they are not man made, but exist in nature, then there must be a reasonable scientific explanation?

Hey OzWeatherman, you there? Can you help us out here? Please do if you can.

These pictures kinda scare me but not too much. All i know is that it is definately NOT global warming. Does this only happen in the northern regions of the world?

Wow! I live in TX and about 4 months ago I was driving down the highway and I saw those exact clouds. I had never seen clouds like that before so I snapped a picture with my phone. Something definately felt eerie about them for sure.

The OP's post includes a quote that includes the RMS is to investigate
where these clouds are mostly seen,so they can't be that well understood.
I have seen them, only once and I have seen Lenticular clouds very often.
I have never seen those Mammatus formations, yet they are well documented, and seem to be understood.
So any of the posters who has seen these "new" formations,
(including em whah) should contact their local meteorological office.

The hell?....those clouds look beautiful and unreal. It almost looks like it was photoshopped. Quite remarkable...I would love to see something like that.
