ACLU files discrimination case against MCSO

The American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit Friday against the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office on claims it discriminated against a former detention officer of Muslim faith.

ACLU officials filed the suit in U.S District Court on behalf of Sinan Fazlovic, 34. Fazlovic claims Sheriff Joe Arpaio and the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office forced him to shave his facial hair in order to keep his job, despite repeated pleas for religious accommodation.

"Fazlovic became an MSCO detention officer in May 2005 , only after he was assured that he could keep his beard," said Dan Pochod

Another lawsuit against Sheriff Joe, big deal right?I will be interested to see where it goes, and just like the 40 million dollars paid out before by Maricopa County for joe suits this one appears to be warranted.Just putting the ACLU and muslim interests into the mix makes this one especially interesting to watch, given the facts that he was told his beard had no standing in regards to him being hired UNTIL nickel bag joe saw him.
