Beautiful argentus

They culled 5,000 geese here where I live. Goslings too. When they were molting so they couldn't fly

It broke my heart

They're just starting to come back now - first time I've seen them or heard them in months. It's glorious

I am glad I wasn't there to see it. Not certain I could have remained a gentle person.

Really glad the numbers are increasing again! I know that at my Dad's place in SW Montana, a gathering of a couple thousand have just set down for a nosh and a short rest. They will probably rise in a day or two.

You know what I love? I love the way that geese that arrive later circle around looking for a place they can land where they won't jostle any other geese. Sometimes they even land outside of the gathering and walk in. It's so respectful that it sometimes makes me wish they'd have evolved to be the dominant species instead of us.

It wasn't an easy thing to process - they did it at night so nobody would know or protest

I love what you love :-)

The water birds - the noise - the society. I agree - geese should rule

Night then - I'm outta here
