I usually don't post much in the medical forum but after seeing this I had too. The first reason is that I believe some of these abnormal growths may be the result of some genitic experimentation, done by whom? that I don't know. The second reason I post this is because I believe in people and I can't possibly fathom the amount of courage these(and others afflicted) have to just live with these types of illnessess.

I wish the medical community and the big pharma, would change how they do business and just start caring about humanity instead of profit. Take note of these people's burden and maybe some will see just how lucky they truly are...including me.

I don't know for certain if any of the depicted photos have been altered in any way(shopped ) so I claim no certainty as to their being real or not, however I believe they are.

Pretty messed up stuff there.

Just a note that most pictures seem to be mismatched with their descriptions.

Or my browser is having a fit. Either way.

Seeing stuff like that should really make people think how fortunate they are.

I saw a special on the first guy with the multiple face tumors. If I recall correctly he is Italian and after his sister pleaded with him to have surgery to correct his condition he refused because he is a Jehovas Witness and would not accept a blood transfusion. Now that is what you call religious devotion.

The third could well be the most horrendous affliction I have seen to date. That would rival a pestilence straight out of biblical times. Poor guy looks about as wretched as one human can possibly appear.

Great post, if not somewhat disturbing otherwise entertaining

This article seems to lend credibility to the tree in the lung story that was discussed on ATS at length several weeks ago.

Most people believed it was fake.

What's this? No Elephantesis? Now that's pretty horrific. Also harlequin babies, Gruesome.

Not one line.

Wow, and I had to go to that website while I was eating dinner!

Anyway, some of those stories to me look a little "far fetched" to be honest. But, I could be wrong, the do indeed look very real. Some obviously HAVE to be real though.

Please do not think badly of me when I comment on that child born with 16 toes. Imagine if someone was born with 16 fingers? Talk about fast Words Per Minute typing skills.

I think it might be advantageous physically to have extra fingers. But Socially it would be difficult because you would not "Fit In" with social norms.

Pretty crazy stuff. I feel really bad for these people. These are not photoshopped, it's definitely real.

If you have the stomach for it...

Here's a video on "Tree Man".

I tried to find the youtube clip on the first man thtat I saw several months ago. No luck.

Yeah these are real, most of them I've seen before. I think the tree in the lung is also true. Most of those deformities can be removed surgically. In the case of the 3rd picture with the barkskin, I remember hearing that it just grows back though fairly quickly. Also too, a lot of these problems are because of a lack of health care, goes without saying. Caught earlier it wouldn't have been nearly as big a problem, for the tumors ect.

Although it's been stated that a believed cause of deformaties like these is a lack of medical care, I do believe that some cases are a genetic manipulation, the question is Who would do such a thing? I believe somebody is carefully studying some of these subjects.

A couple of those pics do look like elephantiasis. The one with the small tumors: the disease is called neurofibromatosis and it also affects the nervous system and bone formation. I think I am ugly, but at least not as bad looking as those people, poor things.

Wow! I have seen many of these cases on TLC I believe discussing their stories and treatment. They seem to have a great attitude for what is happening to them. It really amazes me. I personally would freak out. I recently saw a documentary on the Tree Guy...Its amazing the different kinds of diseases are out there and to see how people deal with it. I give all these people credit for sharing their stories and having positive attitudes.

Wow, Really makes all my problems seem minute compared and appreciate the fact that things could be a lot worse. The only one I don't think I would mind having is a tail, especially if it was movable. Personally I think it would be kinda fun, but maybe that's just me and I'm weird.

Although if i actually had one, I might not feel the same way..
