Approximately it happens once or twice a year, kinder rare but when it does happen, i can hold it usually from 1 minute to 30-40minutes. if i were to stand up, i would lose it instantly so i stay very still.....this has been happening to me ever since i was a kid. No idea what it is but yeah, abit interesting.

Jeffwm -- Ahh.. Altlantis. One of my favorites, I do believe I have had a past life there. Isn't it funny how we are all having dreams about reptile type creatures?? Weird. I must say I love stange and unusal things.
Maybe you were having a dream about a past life??? Hummm...something to think about!

Avionix -- Great dream!

Shredder -- Thanks for signing up! ~ I think you are going into a deep meditation and able to have an OBE. Which is great that you like the feeling...Try doing it more often since you like it, and just meditate more...you will get there.

Idyserenity -- I love the peaceful dreams, I remember those the most! I remember a recurring dream that I always used to have. It was so peaceful...

I was in Ancient Egypt and I could feel that I was such a spritiual being. It felt so good, I was dressed in the most beautiful linens and my eyes were painted. I remember walking out of the pyramid and looking out at the sun rising over the sand. I was really high in the temple and could look down and see lots of stairs. I looked at the sun and raised my hands up to the sky, doing a sun ritual. It was so wonderful and beautiful and it is so hard to describe the 'feeling' that I felt.

BUT as I went back inside the temple someone hit me over the head with a rock...all I remember is seeing my blood on the floor and the feet of the person who killed me. (In my dream I know who it was)

I have had that dream since I was a child, and my mom said since I was little I have always talked about Egypt. I always wanted to buy scarves and dress up as a Priestess.... I think it was a past life that ended up badly.
But I still love the dream even though the ending sucks...

I can't ever remember having an outer body experience, but I had a dream that was sorta strange a couple weeks ago. It's the last dream I remember having since. I don't remember my dreams that often, It seems like maybe a couple or so every year.

I'll try to explain this as well as I possibly can.

It starts out in an arctic region somewhere; a lot of cold, and a lot of ice. In the dream, there are some other people that I don't remember knowing, but I got the impression that I knew them. Anyways we find ourselves crawling across this ice walk way that was lining this huge rock wall that was separating land from water. We were single file on this little walkway, and I was in the back. I remember looking up and seeing nothing but rock going straight up for what seemed like miles on my left, and on my right, nothing but ocean, deep ocean. It was pretty terrifying.

As we were crawling along this walk way, there was an earthquake or something, and the ice broke. The other people kept crawling, and I fell into the ocean. The cold was paralyzing, and I remember sinking, and from the blackness of the ocean, this killer whale comes, and bites me in the torso, then decides I wasn't the other white meat, so he knocks me back onto the ice ledge. So I sit there asking for help, and no one seems to care. I'm alone, just sitting there bleeding to death, and I hear a voice yell out " You gotta climb! He's coming back!" I look up, and see a man on a cliff above, then look below, and seen the whale coming back. I start to panic, and then I remember looking at my hand because of getting this sensation that something is poking my hand. It seems as if my blood has some sort of special properties now.

Strangely enough, my blood is forming these blood red crystals. So I start taking pressure off my side, so that I can bleed out, but I am not suffering the effects of blood withdrawl, and my own blood is forming crystals on the rock face as I smear it here and there. I use them to climb up to this man, and finally make it to him.

We end up waiting for awhile, until the whale below loses interest, and then the man just jumps off the cliff, and lands in the water. I remember thinking, that man is as good as dead, and just as I get ready to look down below, the ice is gone, and the ocean looks more inviting. Almost as if it went from arctic cold, to tropical paradise. I hesitated for awhile because of my fear of heights. Then the guy assures me I will be fine, and that if I jump, that he will guide me back to safety. So I jump, and the last thing I remember is that feeling you get whenever your on a roller coaster, and going down that first large hill. I black out half way down, remember the warm water, then the dream ends...

That dream baffles me to no end.

I can "Astral Project" every night along with having SP.
I have a neurological disorder do to a spinal cord defect I was born with, and due to several operations on my spinal cord, and some damage to the frontal lobe from all the anesthesia of 100 and some operations adding up over time.

Ever since I was a baby I had sleep paralysis and lucid dreams.

[..]

I feel that these are simple trickery of the mind , some people can experience this once in a blue moon then people like me who have neurological problems have it more often which leads me to believe that it all points to the brain and a "defect" or a "blip" in the brain waves during sleep, chemicals, and all that other good sleep stuff.

[...]

I can understand why people really feel as if they are Astral Projecting, Being Abducted, or basic travel.

It's one of the most real things I've ever felt.(I can feel, smell, and taste things in my dreams, my chronic pain transfers into my dreams, I feel this happens because I was born with over senses, my sense of smell, sight, and hearing and feeling are much stronger due to the average person)
But my understanding of Neuro science and the human body keeps me from believing it is anything other then the great powers of the subconscious mind.

But just because I FEEL that way does not mean I am right.
I think many things are possible.
I do not look down on, or judge others by their opinions about this, or try to over state my point or change their minds.
Their opinions are part of their beliefs and their beliefs are part of their hearts, they all belong to them and I have no right man handle them just because I feel differently and want to be seen as the right one.

S&F

Wow, thank you for one of the most thoughtful and insightful messages I have ever read.

My sympathies for you physical problems but it is clear your mind working wonderfully.

The subconscious mind can and does create not only experiences and imagery for us but occasionally can be so powerful it can cause external manifestations. This is an area where things start to get interesting. But one shouldn't run away to much with their imaginations here, either.

What we see on a forum like here is an extra level of the phenomenon. People who have never had contact with each other have similar experiences and give them a similar interpretation. i.e. you are being visited by an alien every night.

This then give some illusion of solidity to the belief and as we've seen whole sub-culture and belief system develops from the shared experience.

Thanks again for for your very much appreciated input.

I had something happen to me a few years ago and I hope it fits here...any feedback is welcome.

I laid down on my bed, on my back with my ankles crossed with my hands tucked under my butt. I remember looking at the clock and it read 1:12 and turned my head back straight to try to fall asleep. The next thing I know my body starts trembling and I hear this weird ringing in my left ear that got so loud it almost started to hurt. I remember thinking wth is going on and I couldn't move...just feeling. Then the ringing stopped and it (I swear) sounded like a beautiful humming in my ears like music from a choir. At that moment I felt like I was being lifted right up in the air but I couldn't see anything because my eyes were still closed. When all the noises and feelings stopped I started to struggle to open my eyes, I remember trying to blink 3 or 4 times and it was extremely hard to do. When I finally was able to focus I realized I was in the top right corner of my bedroom clear across the room from my bed. I could see all around me and there were no feelings of fear or anything negative at all. I remember thinking, huh, where is my body because I had the sensation of being more of a bubble then anything else. I focused down to my bed and there my body laid and I had to force myself in a jerking motion to get to where my body was. I remember seeing a bright white being in the doorway 3 feet from my bed but I paid no mind because I had to see my face. I finally got above myself around my waist and I thought to myself oh that's so sad look how grey and dead I look, what a pathetic looking thing that I don't really need. My focus then turned to the white being standing 3 feet away..just staring at my body. It was as still as a statue and never once moved while I was having this experience. It appeared to be bright white with hair to it's shoulders that was brighter then the skin but just as bright as the robe it seemed to be wearing (a hood maybe?). It didn't cast a shadow and there were no tunnels of light or anything like that. It was just there and like I said, it never moved. It had no features on the face but a nose and very thin light pink lips. It would have looked almost like a human except for the eyes, they were almost alien like but not, they were much smaller then anything I have ever read about. I wasn't afraid it was more a feeling of complete innocent wonder..like wooow. I pulled myself over to it and noticed the skin wasn't "real" it looked more like pudding and the eyes were like mesh. I started to fall into the beauty of the eyes and I was right up to the face so close I felt like I wanted to enter the eyes, it was weird. As I was thinking I must go in there..I heard a loud booming noise that sounded like NO! Then everything blacked out, I felt a hard jerk and the next thing I know I am back in my body feeling like I was just thrown back in..my body was almost in a spasm with serious tingling going on. I looked towards the door where the being was but it was gone and I thought what the heck was that all about, it wasn't a dream I don't get it. I looked at the clock to see how long I may have been asleep and the clock read 1:19. Only 7 minutes had gone by! I don't know what happened but I will never forget that experience, I remember feeling so full of energy and so happy when I decided to get off the bed. I walked around the house with shivers of excitement and love. I searched for months on the internet trying to figure it out and all things point to an OBE. So many things happened after that that wouldn't fit here..but the main experience is just something I wanted to share in-case someone can confirm it was an OBE or maybe some insight as to what that being may have been.

-At this time I was having serious family issues and I was seriously trying to convince myself to die in my sleep. After the experience I got therapy for my depression, doc believed my OBE, she never prescribed meds either.-

Just the other night I had a rude awakening that I was awoken from the brute force of being bludgeoned in the head.
I went to the doctors the next day anyways to get a medical stand point, but the awking similarities that this had to another dream days prior I am thinking it is too much to sweep over.

We were in a few different 'spaces' this dream I recorded down and theres more than I have written down; if you want more details of this dream I will type them down.
In this Astral-space I was an Elf, my fiance was an elf and my friends, of whom I didn't know first hand but I did tend to have a friendship connection to these people nonetheless, were elves. In the dream the Sun was burning bright the sky at about 30 degrees above the horizon at two in the morning we were walking to our car from the entrance of the bar. when we were half way the Sun changed to a large winged buffed male angel, with a saintly aura around his head and upper body, a co-encurrent "uh-noh!" reaction from my friend who was at the car looking at my dead body and my fiance was at my side now in a third person perspective. I was looking at my body and the damage done to my head. one stone under neath my head and one that had been dropped on my frontal forehead. I was finished.

I can't stop thinking now if my rude awakening was from that of a outside entity or that only or a mere, yet severely painful, migraine.

Also I have had experiences multiple times always the same time an alignment of planets, of which are colourful, nothing like those of Saturn, and they are closer than the distance between those in our solar system. when I shift my perception there are serveral other people in my area aweing at the same beatiful skyscape. usually my fiance wakes me up knowingly it seems and then it doesn't come back for another couple months to years. But the planetary scene does tend to repeat in its showing. One other repeat not a scene but fairies and angels. I like my sleep but there have been times when the nightmares tend to be in utter realms of hells and full of hellions, none i would care to mention.

One other dream that come to mind is one of a lady with a baby and I was guiding her to get some medical help she ignored me then I walked with her over a walking bridge over a stream to which there were elephants walking the other way the lady and baby walked into the woods and I looked back at the elephant that stepped on my back, I woke up and was holding my back also there was a shadow man at the side of mybed that dissapeared when I tried to grab him. interestingstuff indeed

I have teachers there.
Sometimes they convene in what seems to be the top of space.
There's a black box they show me sometimes, if you look down in it, they can bring up any part of the universe they want to.

we all have the ability to harness these states we get in, we are all one with that, is some being telling us something, are we all to get better at this and simehow combine it into a collective, each human is unique in their physical form but in the mental form i think there is a link.

I think it seems to be getting stronger and stronger over time with all of us, time will tell me thinks

I have had a few OBEs after months of intensive remote viewing training in the 90's.One of the reasons I gave up RVng was that I felt my astral self was feeling loose in my body and felt like it would slip out at any time!

My OBEs have been very quick,as soon as I know I am doing it I ping right back!My last one was one of those fun ones when I rolled over in bed to look at the alarm clock-saw the time then blinked and found I was looking at the ceiling!lol

I have thought about doing it recently, but there always that nagging thought in the back of my mind that tells me I might not want to come back!

I have one freaky dream, well I hope it was a dream!

Must have been in my early twenties in the summer.I can remember waking up and feeling realy fresh and wide awake and noticing that the alarm clock was only saying 5.45 and it was a beutifull sunny morning.

Well not wanting to get up I thought I would stay in bed for another hour. I must have nodded off as the next time I woke up it was pitch black in my room and outside!I didnt even look at the clock, just pulled the duvet over my head and tried to sleep again.lol.That was the freakiest dream I have ever had!

I've had a brief projection experience

One night, it was a spontaneous projection.

It went like this: I emerged out into bright vivid light, it was a beautiful natural setting.. Almost like walking into a day in the outdoors where everything is flourishing, and the sun is shining so brightly, just illuminating everything in sight. I stared up at these lights and.. my first though "I'm dieing... so this is what it's like to die.. You know its not so bad. But I can't die yet.." So I could feel myself turning back and going to my body. That's where it ended.

I know it was different from my dreams, I was making concious, rational choices.. As opposed to just observing everything as you do in a dream.

Well looks like my previous post was removed , albeit unnecessarily, unfairly and wrongly. Ill add some more though, this wont discourage me. I was just talking about my dreams. CENSORSHIP. BE ASHAMED MODS

As for my astral experiences. The first occasions I recall being in the astral plane was when I was around 16 or so. I first stumbled upon it because I was having sleep paralysis and didint know what it was till I found it on the net, which led me to other things. I read about astral projection so I tried it. I remember hearing a loud rushing sound, and light, lots and lots of light. I then looked around the room and I could see an outline of everything in the room in the form of an electric blue energy. I looked at my hands and they were made of the same material. Ever since then I have done a little traveling, mostly inside my house as I dont have astral travelling mastered yet.

Ive experienced a few things in these realms. One time as I returned to my body, I saw my other body floating in front of me. Probably an outer shell of some sort that I disposed of. However, Ive never actually seen my real own body while in astral body. I've never had the chance to turn around and look. Moving around is really hard for me in that state.

I think my spirit guide has tried to contact me while in the realms in the form of Dr. Phil, however the only information I've successfully extracted from him was " look into the teachings of Sheldan Nidle", advice which Ive ignored. Ive gone to the website, not really a big deal. Doesn't really interest me.

Being in the astral plane for me feels more real than real life. My senses pick up more information. Its amazing.

I remember just recently I was trying to project and managed to paralyze my body. I opened my eyes (real eyes) and saw exactly what was there and what I would have seen had I been in a normal state. With differences. The colors were more radiant, and vibrant. There were colors everywhere merging and mixing. There was beauty everywhere. This was no dream or illusion, as I saw details that I did not know were in my room till I checked afterward. I wish I could see the way I saw that day.

There's a couple of dreams I have that stand out. Both were like one of those psychedelic posters you see. There is complete darkness except for the pattern that lies in front of me. It was green, and then it starts twisting and turning like a kaleidoscope and then there is a burst of something. Something strange then happens to me. Something very strange. Like energy at the bottom and top of my spine meeting.

AwakenAware -- I think that you were having an OBE, what is interesting is how you thought of yourself, as you were looking down at your body. ~ "I thought to myself oh that's so sad look how grey and dead I look, what a pathetic looking thing that I don't really need."~ Maybe you felt that way because you wanted to die in you sleep?? But the being on the other hand is really cool, I would have been like WOW too..
And the booming noise saying NO, was almost like you weren't supposed to go. Where were you going to go is the question??

Tumache -- Great astral traveling! Funny how when you back still hurt when you woke up! I wake up with scratches and brusies sometimes.

hadriana -- That is awesome! I want to hear more about that!

noangels -- Sounds like you were on to things and it was no easy to control. I bet you can control it though. I have faith.

Miraj -- I love the nature and bright sun astral dreams. (Really i just love them all) he he.

Stevedel0 -- I was wondering what happend to your post! I never got to read it! Thanks for re-posting! And you are right about everything being just so much more beautiful. Like you can't even describe it can you? Like it is another world within ours but everything is just wonderful and free! Thanks again for reposting I enjoyed it!

I dreamt I spoke to Jade Goody and told her she was already dead and she needed to leave than to stay because she could not tell she had died but she did not believe me and I had to convince her.

When I woke up, the same morning it was annouced she died fom her cancer.

She died in her sleep, meaning it would have been harder for her to know where she was so it makes sense.

Was that real or do I have a good imagination?

Also my latest dream was horrible seeing a 40cm spider with crab like legs in the corner of my bathroom with its legs longways. I could not wake up from it but in the end I though I go measure the leg span. Glad they are not real.

Very nice dream, but you know that you can go back to the astral at anytime. Why not go, especially since it was so special for you? Just a thought.

That was my first experience with the astral, I often went back after I had that dream.
Do you have experience with astral psy-houses? That's mostly what I've been doing there for the last 4 or 5 years, really interesting although it's hard not to fall for imagination vs astral

I'd much rather have the dreams with the watchtower masters.

But tonight, had a sickening experience.
I was meditating and then I was going to take a nap. Well, as I was falling alseep, I started coming out of my body, but not right.

My feet were on backwards. I projected backwards. Not right. Sick. It felt twisted, sickening. I had to wonder in dark places, with my feet backwards.

Then my dreams were of someone who'd killed someone in the 70's, and buried them in a cornfield, shallow at first, but when the corn grew high between their house and the road, they were able to rebury the body very deep. THey had moved. THey were going through a book case and found an old picture that connected them with the cornfield. They were considering how to get rid of the picture, but they didn't want to destroy it.

I woke up feeling quite sick, for one reason b/c my foot still feels backwards. For the other reason, I was afraid I'd killed someone. It took me a good 20 minutes to come to terms with that it had JUST been some sort of dream.

I've had the 'killed someone' dream every so often for years. The details of who, where, when, why are different, but basically it's always the same - someone, or some couple, have killed someone and buried the body and they are scared they are fixing to be caught.

I dreamed too, someone said that there was a period of great retrograde over the sea soon. (Neptune?) It would be a bad time, something would happen that would make a lot of people believe in a dark magician.

I've been too sick at my stomach to go back to sleep.
I'd rather NOT have dreams like THAT.

I have thought about writing some key words down because if I find if I move too quickly when I wake up I forget everything.

I had an interesting dream last night though. Before bed I did a brief ET contact meditation expressing my interests for contact and then promptly fell asleep. The first part I can remember was being on the edge of some swampy plains and some huge trees leading up to some hills. The ground was covered in a dark green moss. I then spot a red orb flying above tree height along the edge of the trees, away from me. It seemed to dissolve and a shower of sparks fell to the ground. A UFO?

The next thing I can remember was being on the east coast of Australia. The land mass was accurate but very small and deserted. I was standing under a shack with a woman dressed in clothing like she was a ranger or animal rescue person, only in her twenties, quite attractive with her straight blonde hair in a pony tail. I asked her where she was from for some reason, and she said "we come from the sky". I don't remember anything past that point.

I have been doing Skyfloating's ET contact meditation for a few months and in his thread he mentions that ETs wanting to contact you will first appear in dreams or waking states. I have already had a physical telepathic UFO sighting relating to this so I think it might be linked.

I don't expect you to believe in ETs, because we're not the the UFO forum but this thread seemed like an appropriate place to express what's happening dream-wise

That's funny, I, too had a great interest in Egypt from a very early age. Reading everything I could on the mythology and the history of Egypt. I don't even know whose books they were, maybe my sister's school textbooks or my mom had a great interest and had these books? I remember she had an ankh I used to take out of her jewelery box and wear all the time and saying wierd words raising my hands up to the sky, much like you described here. What's really interresting is every psychic I come in contact with says two things about me, no matter where I am or who the psychic is. They say One: I am a very old soul(they always stress very old). And Two:that I am very spiritual.

Myself as well, actually 3 of the old cultures, Egypt, Greece, and Rome.
I've also always been a polytheist. It just makes more sense to me.
I was meditating one day - solar gazing, something I do nearly every day (and not blind yet, lol) and had a flashback of the setting sun through an oxen's horns. Like that's where the symbol comes from, on the head of Hathor. Love of family, family life. Going home at the end of the day. The horns encasing the sun. That's when everyone knew it was time to go home.
