I just want to say that when Edgar Mitchell was interviewed on Campbell Live, which here in New Zealand is about as mainstream as TV news shows can get, John Campbell treated him with the utmost respect. I don't recall anybody laughing when that show aired. Most of my workmates believe in the subject, and they are ordinary joes, as am I.

I assume you live in America and perhaps there is still a certain level of ignorance to overcome from some quarters (population is so much bigger of course), but I can assure you that here in New Zealand, people talk openly and candidly about UFOs. Maybe it has something to do with the Kaikoura Lights (an event indelibly stamped on our past), and a lot of people have strange stories to tell of things they have seen. I can't speak for mainstream Americans, but here in New Zealand there is definitely an openness.. and not so much s'n-word'ing and sneering going on.

I think you can watch the Edgar Mitchell interview in full on Campbell Live if you go to the TV3 website (I think it's www.tv3.co.nz). Bearing in mind, this is a prime time 7pm show straight after the nightly news; it's hardly in a time slot that is on too late for people to watch!

[EDIT- ok that's strange.. the word 's n i g g e r i n g' was replaced with 'n-word'!]

On Channel 3 right now 60 Minutes (New Zealand) UFO Disclosure. Never thought it would happen on mainstream media, amazing, finally.

@kiwitina948

You've posted the same thing on two threads, if something's going on could you please provide us with more details?

Cheers!

EDIT TO ADD:
I'm sorry -- I did not notice the date on the post to which I was replying (I should have known it was an old thread when I saw Zorgon's post). I don't expect a reply back from "impaired", but my post below still stands as written.

I understand that he is not point-blanking it, but that's just the thing. Maybe he can't say it directly.
But he indicates that something is definetly up.
He's just treading softly, IMHO.
I applaud the guy. I don't think he's getting senile or something either.

Or maybe he is just a person without any "inside knowledge" stating his personal opinion on UFOs, just like the many people here on ATS who state their personal opinion without having inside knowledge.

I have no problem with Dr. Mitchell having a personal opinion on UFOs, but I'm not going to assume he knows more than he is saying. Right now, he is just like any other private citizen who believes in alien visitation.

Dude, when he was up on the moon, he had to have seen something. Why else would he be so adamant about saying "We have been visited"?

There are a lot of people who haven't seen aliens who are adamant about their belief in alien visitation. Can't a person who never had "amazing personal evidence" of aliens actually believe in alien visitation?

What if Dr. Mitchell saw nothing out of the ordinary on the Moon? Are you implying that he should then NOT be as adamant about -- or maybe be against -- the idea of alien visitation?

I think he is just a person with two things: a strong personal opinion and a soap box (his celebrity) to stand on.
