Several years ago I came across a website by the name "United States Department of Disinformation" And the words top secret were on the page.
There was a small graphic and nothing much else except for some list of names and information on the people. And the title was scheduled for termination or something like that.

If any of you know about this site, what exactly was it?

Apparently it's something about the Patriot Act, according to this website:
www.homelandstupidity.us...

According to this article: www.atimes.com... the Department of Disinformation is the Pentagon.

According to this article: www.opednews.com... it's part of the Department of Media, and off-shoot of the Federal Government's Executive Branch.

Make the decision for yourself on what it really is. However, apparently every country has a Department of Disinformation in order to keep people from panicking and running amok in the streets when something bad happens. For instance: President Clinton actually kept some terrorists from blowing up Lincoln Tunnel. I'm sure the government told the people of New York that the tunnel was under repairs of some sort for the day. Also, I'm sure that when the government is testing some sound barrier-breaking plane, they just tell us that the local Marine base doing cannon practice.
