One thing I really miss, or can't seem to find, is the feature to skip to a portion of a forum thread that I last reponded into. So if I click my thread in my home ATS, I want to jump to the spot on the page that I last posted to, so I can read forward from there.

That seems to be a fairly common feature of many boards, so and I am sure I am just not seeing that feature or it eludes me. However if it does not exist, even a little link under your sidebar name the name when you are in a post that takes you to the page of your last post in that thread would be handy.

Thanks

No, there is no feature like that here. But it's been brought up a bunch of times.

Unfortunetly the function does not exist because of the massive ammount of coding it would take to make the function work properly.

Maybe someday.

How about some sort of cludge, sort of a different view. So just take the date of the last thread post by the creator, and then do an exclusionary SQL query for all threads newer than that date, and dump that into another view of the forum, or even a list, and a person can just click on the post from there. So the list is simply a from last post date.

I have been to several sites that have this function.

They are nowhere near as good as ATS.

I think that this function reduces the amount of pages views which negative affects advertising revenues, which affects the kickassedness of the site.

I'd say that keeping this out of the code has been resultant in increasing the overall kickassedness of ATS.

I disagree. the kickassedness of the site most likely is due to content and it's transparency to that content on search engines such as google, and all kind of nifty things which support interaction and discussion.

And since content is king, and one assumes that many people have a finite amount of time to communicate, slowing them down and making them scroll between endless pages to find their last post, also slows down the responses, and therefore less content.
