I found this article that I thought was interesting!

26 Similarities between America and Nazi Germany

Some of the similarities listed I believe are a bit of a stretch and not what I particularly believe, but very interesting none the less!

This is a fantastic post. Excellent topic that's critically important to awaken the masses to. I don't think any of the items in the list are too much of a stretch. Some of the items aren't quite fully developed yet... or have a slightly different twist, but the intention is the same!

That's a great article you found. Even if people want to nickel and dime... it's clear, the blueprint Hitler was told to operate from is being implemented in America. You've done a great service to bring this forward and make people aware.

WARNING: This list was obviously comprised by a religious zealot. I found it very unamusing and slightly offensive.

Here is an excerpt

#1 Hitler outlawed school prayer in Germany. In 1962, The U.S. Supreme Court did the same for us.
#2 Hitler eliminated Christian holidays in the schools first by calling Christmas "Yuletide." Most American public schools now call Christmas vacation a "winter break."
#3 Hitler took Easter out of schools and instead honored that time of year as the beginning of spring. It has likewise become common for schools in America to refer to time off at Easter as "spring break."
#4 Hitler controlled the church using intimidation and threats. A half-century ago, U.S. Senator and Senate Majority Leader Lyndon Baines Johnson, promoted a bill that included an amendment to use the Internal Revenue Service to remove the non-profit status of a church that speaks against the election of any specific political candidate.
#21Calling upon Darwinian evolution, Hitler convinced the German people that purging millions of people was acceptable because of the need to create a pure race; also referred to as eugenics. American students across the board have been educated in Darwinian evolution because the Supreme Court has ruled that creation cannot be taught in our schools-even if both creation and evolution are taught side by side.

I was expecting something with a little more teeth, rather than the ranting of an irate christian fundy who is upset that we aren't as hyper religious as Islamo Fascists.

BTW, Hitler was a strong Christian. (Thanks again, christianity, for producing such wonderful muppets.

Edit: Added #21, because apparently believing in evolution makes you a Nazi.

Why the warning? The title of the thread states exactly what the article entails. There is complete truth to the article be it religion or not. And if this article is offensive to you, than I must say you are a bit over sensitive.

Yah i was expecting some with a bit more teeth also. If you go by that list there is a lot more countrys in the world then just the US that are headed down to road of Nazi-like oppression
because of their separation of church and state.

Do you know what the word "zealot" means? Apparently not! This article has nothing to do with religion other than what Hitler did to attempts to make sure it influenced the people less than he did.

Wow! Just Wow! I can't believe you see anything funny about this. You're correct that there are a lot more countries than just the USA that are headed down that road to despair. Is that a reason to find humor in this horror?

You're the type of person who wouldn't mind having his hair set on fire, because everybody's getting their hair set on fire and therefore it must be normal .

What exactly is your point?

Wait.. what?! that article is nothing BUT religion and when its not going on about that its saying that having social medicine is turning us into evil tyrants because Hitler did it so if Hitler did it its got to be evil. Come on man you live in Canada are you saying that because we have health care and a decent amont of removal of church and state that we are "going down the road of Nazism"?

I think the similarities are present there and there are more as well . If you read Mien Kompf even if Hitler was a disturbed soul you can see many parallels with the direction of the USA and how Hitler made things come about in Germany.

One of the Third Reich did was to break down the laws prohibiting search and seizure and how the evidence was collected . By softening the rules It allowed the detaining and searching any one . This has been happening a lot lately . And with the patriot act it chiseled a lot more off .

One of Hitlers principals was create a folk state where people could be rallied around . The terms of Mother land , Father land and Rhine land to give the Germans a sense of oneness with each other and their history . I have always thought it was funny when the Department of Homeland Security was coined with that name . It sent me to think of the steps Hitler used and the names he used to further his agenda .

i know someone is bound to take what i say out of context and use it against me at some later date, but i'm going to say it anyways.

Intelligence does not know good or evil. Hitler was a very intelligent leader. He just chose to use his powers for "evil". I'm not saying America is "good" but to say "America is the new Nazi Germany" is just completely asinine.

This is a prime example of Christian zealots at their worst.

haha yah this is a total religious hit piece.

There are much more important similarities which could have been mentioned, like the encroaching police state...

They forgot to put something about the Anti-Smoking Nazi's

constitutionalistnc.tripod.com...

The state performer in antismoking propaganda was Adolf Hitler. As one magazine put it: "brother national socialist, do you know that our Führer is against smoking and think that every German is responsible to the whole people for all his deeds and emissions, and does not have the right to damage his body with drugs?"

"Robert Proctor presents a great deal of evidence that the nazis' exerted massive control over most facets of ordinary citizen's lives. Yet somehow, he never reaches the obvious conclusion that such compulsive regulations, even if arguably well intentioned, ultimately lead to a large scale sacrifice of basic freedoms.
He explains how the nazis greatly restricted tobacco advertising, banned smoking in most public buildings, increasingly restricted and regulated tobacco farmers growing abilities, and engaged in a sophisticated anti-smoking public relations campaign.

Now THAT is a huge similarity!

Cmon man i have a difference in opinion to you so the first thing you do is attack me calling me a 5th grader right after you said " I mean no disrespect but your views"... And what basic human rights am i losing ,according to the The Universal Declaration of human rights all of these things are still here in Canada and i see no evidence of any of it being taken away from me by the federal government. Even myself have issues with the countrys censorship rulings i would not go as far to say its a hit to my human rights and i know there are some things that do happen with police forces abusing power and unlawful activity's but these events are shown in light to the press and we are much better then a lot of other country in the world in that respect. So unless ive missed some things please enlighten me to how im losing "basic human rights" every day?

Hey its not just those points that make the US like the NAZI party. what about that we today cannot yell to the streets that obama is a whatever you would like to call him with out being arrested for disturbing the peace. Or that we have ALL these useless laws that we do not need, if we went back to the 10 commandments for the laws of the us i think that we will be a very fine nation

Ho hum. Another "we are turning into Nazi Germany" thread by some disgruntled people who don't like Obama and his administration.

Your argument is basically one that is called in argument theory "reductio ad Hitlerum." That means everything is reduced to similarities to Adolf Hitler. An example of such a faulty syllogism might be something like this:

All dog lovers love dogs
Hitler was a dog lover
Therefore, all dog lovers are Nazis

Each side in American politics always calls the opposing side fascists. This is old news. I personally think Rush Limbaugh is a Nazi, but you would probably not agree.

I don't know why you Christians hate Obama so much. He's a Christian and a good one, in my opinion.

BTW: To give the devil his due: Hitler was not a "good Christian" and probably not a Christian at all. He was an occultist. IMO he didn't want anyone thinking there was a power higher than the state.
