That sheds a little light on the story...thx..
They'll probably find he has been illegally shipping to the Dom Rep...
So it looks like the person who was selling him the ammo ratted him out.....interesting...
Why make such a comment, when you don't know the truth of the matter yet?
He wasn't an illegal alien, he was about to become citizen of the U.S. but wasn't able to go because he was arrested...
He legally owned 2-3 firearms, and the ammo was for those firearms exactly, not any other, and also he was caught because he was moving, with his two children, some other stuff and the ammo to a new place. He still was under the law, more so when he had 15 days to aquire a permit for his firearms to the new state he was moving to..

Well let me see, I have maybe an unknown number of rounds on hand that number into the thousands, I have also used more than 500 rounds in a single range session.
We have no evidence that this guy has committed a crime, and suggesting that he was shipping ammo to the Dominican Republic simply because that was where he was born smacks of racism. The "Hey you're a Mexican with lots of cash, you must be a drug smuggler" type of police logic.
This stinks.

I own an indoor range in Michigan and getting ammo right now is like pulling teeth. I have several suppliers and between them I am barely able to meet my needs. Go online to the bulk ammo dealers....they don't have any. Go into the stores ......the ammo shelves are empty. without knowing all the facts my guess is that this guy is flipping the ammo. Buying in bulk, jacking up the price, and selling it for a substantial profit. With the current economy and the ammo shortage a lot of people are doing this right now.
Simply people taking advantage of the current situation to turn a buck.Just not that big a deal.
