its about time

I am in Kentucky and this has been all over the local news. I have a buddy whose pop is a Voc Rehab specialist at the V.A. at Campbell and he said the place has been a virtual ghostown for 3-4 months. So I am not sure what the heck is going on. Only thing I can think of is that alot of guys were deployed a while ago and the gov is only now deciding to tell us.

I also heard that some aircraft carrier is headed towards N. Korea as well. I would say its a matter of a few weeks or even days until we wake up one morning to bombs going off in Baghdad.

Yeah MM I heard that tonight as well. Hopefully that situation will not become more explosive than it already is. I fear though that this is not the case. NK I think is desperate enough right now to do anything and us sending more ships into the region might enflame them even more.

Yeah observer, I was also thinking the same thing. Sending the carrier their might cause more conflict but I think if N. Korea is smart and wants their country to last for a few more years, they wont attack.

I think, MM, the issue is this: the NK regime (Mr Hairspray in particular) is smart but.. insane.

On another note; one of my officemates just found out her cousins Marine unit got deployed, and I have a friend in the NPSAC (is this right?) Naval Reserves program that is just waiting for a call (he had an interview with Naval Intel and is a Telecom geek professionally) though I think he get called. At least I hope not.

As for you Tyler, you make a good point with the "Come on you apes, you think you're gonna live forever?" - Starship Troopers.

While that's a great point, it doesn't apply with Iraq and afghanistan and such, because we need to set up democracies there.

But the point is good none-the-less because we have a failing democracy on our hands in the future if no one remembers what a democracy is.

The government is becomming to centralized.

And its foriegn policy is at risk of becomming to dictatoral.

I have faith though that Federalism will win out in the end, but not if the school systems keep lowering in standards the way they are.
