I'm not quite sure where to post this, so if this is the wrong place, sorry.

So, has anyone heard of this book:

"Black Science : Ancient and Modern Techniques of Ninja Mind Manipulation"

I was browsing some Amazon, and came across it.

It is all about how Ninjas used to control people, through body language, see through lies, and just do general ninja stuff.

It contains Ninja meditation techniques too, which i thought would be fairly cool.

The fighting skills of the shadow warrior - the ninja - made them feared throughout Japan. But the wise man had greater fear for their bloodless methods of domination, which the ninja mind masters preferred to crude physical violence. Ninja broke through their enemies' mental defenses using direct attack or stealth, comparing such operations to invading an enemy fortress. In this guided tour through the mysterious realm of the ninja, martial arts experts Dr. Haha Lung and Christopher B. Prowant reveal the secrets that will allow you to tell when someone is lying to you, implant false memories, tailor your attack by using the specific keys to each individual's mind, use verbal patterns and body language to earn your foe's utter trust, interrogate using unbeatable psychological methods and much more. You will also learn the terrifying truth behind modern mind-control, propaganda and brainwashing techniques used by cults (and our own government), as well as take a look ahead to the future of mass mind control. The wars of tomorrow may well be won or lost in the battlefield of the mind. This book could mean the difference between winning your freedom and losing everything.

Any thoughts?

this is good information you linked imo

ninjas were/are some of the most advanced fighters known in history, and their techniques have been shrouded in secrecy for ages

a ninja may also be the most wise and clever of any warrior, and so it comes as no surprise to learn that they had perfected mind warfare

many of the disinformation or cover up techniques used today bare eerily similar hallmarks to the ancient traditions of the ninja

what an excellent and wonderful subject, thanks for the link

A friend and colleague was lucky enough to enjoy a week studying under Masaaki Hatsumi a few years ago when he stayed a while in England. He's the last 'true' Ninja in the sense his teachers came from the direct lineage of Ninja masters. He's pretty fast and effective well into his 70s or 80s now.

A lot of mythology has grown around the abilities of Ninjas, at least some of which is from them. Defeated enemies may have also embellished and exaggerated the secret powers to ease their embarrassment. Certainly, if word was received that your enemy had enlisted ninjas against you, the fear factor could only help them in their task.

They were like walking swiss-army knives too. Around their person would be mundane items with lethal improvements. A book I read about them described how a ninja would wait in the cess pit below a toilet. When the intended victim squatted down, our ninja friend would stick something rather sharp and fatal up his backside.

Haha thats crazy, the cess pit thing is anyway.

Yeah, i understand that quite alot of what they did was exaggerated, and not all true.
When people lose to someone, they tend to make stuff up to ease embarresment.

interesting book.

I just recently was watching "The deadliest Warrior". A show on Spike I believe, that pits famous warrior types vs one another, tests thier weapons with computers, then runs simulated fights to determine the winner.

Shows were Apache vs Gladiator, Samurai vs Viking ect.

Then they recently did Ninja vs Spartan.

I was appalled when thier computer sim picked the Spartan beating a ninja in 1 vs 1 combat. It was very unrealistic, the ninja attacks in an open field in broad daylight for one. Anyway...getting to the point.

They showed an interesting weapon a ninja carried in his arsenal I'd never heard of. "Black Eggs".

They'd make a small hole in the tope of an egg, drain out its contents, then fill it with pulverized glass, I mean glass as fine as powder. Sometimes they'd add a liquid that had the effects of tobassco sause. Anyhow, theyd paint the egg black, cover the small hole, then use these Black Eggs to throw at thier enemies eyes.

Could you imagine haveing and egg size amount of powdered glass in your eyes. OUCH, I'd say it's game over from there.

But as far as the Ninja spartan. I think the ninja would just kill him in his sleep.

You can watch these "Deadliest warrior" episodes on you tube, just do a search for them, they're pretty interesting, although, if your like me you won't agree with most of thier results after the final sim.

Ah I've never heard of that before, I'll have to give it a look.
That does seem strange that a Spartan would beat a Ninja, but like i've mentioned before, most of the Ninjas weapons, techniques and skills, have been kept extremely secret, and i dont think anybody knew just exactly how powerful they actually were.

Interesting about the black eggs too, damn that would hurt

Thanks,

this book really looks interesting, although one of the reviews on amazon that was posted by a "psychologist" bothers me. Although he might not be one and just putting down, since after all we are on the internet.

i will definitely check this book out though.

oh and a suggestion, apparently according to the reviews "Mind manipulation: Ancient and Modern Ninja Techniques" is the same exact book, except different publishers and its a year newer. so don't buy that one along with black science.

I actually practice Shinobi Ryu Nunjutsu. As someone that practices the ninja arts and is learning through a respected school I feel I can comment on this particular post.

Basically what I have learned is to able to move without being seen or making any sound at all. I have learned many throws, take downs, misdirects, strikes, hand to hand combat, assassination techniques, throwing weapons, sword combat, and some acrobatic content. I have learned infiltration also. Most of this is very deadly stuff and includes some pretty effective techniques many will seriously hurt someone if used.

I have never been told or taught anything about psychic ninja mind manipulation.

It is possible though. The mind is capable of some pretty amazing things.

" Thanks for the pointer seems a good read will add it to the list, I have always been interested in Ninjas and their secrets since the James Bond film with the poison being dropped down a thread into the victims mouth
