BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- An east Bakersfield man is accused of possibly blinding his 4-year-old son by eating his eyes out.

The police report showed that the 4-year-od boy reportedly told medical staff "my daddy ate my eyes out.”

Police said that Angelo Mendoza, 34, bit an eyeball out of his son's face and ate it.


The police said the incident happened on April 28 after neighbors noticed Mendoza acting nervo

What is the world comming to. A father, takes PCP, and then eats his four year old son's eyes. I live in Bakersfield and work for the welfare department. We see this stuff everyday, but it is getting much worse. Pretty Gross. This world has some serious problems. What do you think? The source is Kero TV 23 and the Bakersfield Californian Newspaper.

I know what you mean. The state in which we live in, the way we treat our children... well some people... it's sickening.

We usually see pit bulls or other dogs mutilating the young children. I personally had a case where a pit bull pulled an eye out of a two year old child. When adults do it, it's even worse.

They're obviously a genetic match, give the kid his dads eyes. an eye for an eye, doesn't get any clearer than that.Oh and by the way I find it appalling!

There always seems to be some new story based around PCP use like this when 99% of them are the same old rehash of tales told since the drug has existed.
In reality people under the influence of PCP are hardly able to move physically and usually are really calm. Not saying it's not possible but I guess so is that story about the guy who took so much '___' that he was afraid to tip over because he thought he was a glass of orange juice. See my point here?

What a horrible story

I am offended by the idea that violence is caused by a breed of dog.

Pitbulls I have known, have been some of the most gentle family pet. Some of the most eager to please their humans.

A pet is only a reflection of how they were raised. Behind a mauling by a pet, is a severely irresponsible owner that didn't raise their pet to love, and allowed an attack to happen.

Pitbull owners I have known, are some of the most responsible people in the world.

Do not blame a breed of dog for bad actions... Blame an idiot that thought a 'badass' dog would impress their gangster friends. Ban stupid people, not dogs.

This is pretty crazy, unfortunately not very surprising.
His father just might not be a bad person to be honest.

PCP really does something crazy to you and it's not the first time that someone high on PCP tried eating someone else. There was this music artist once, about 8yrs ago, who took PCP and then started eating his girlfriend. The cops later found him roaming the streets with blood all over his shirt.

There are other similar stories as well. Don't talk about the user, it's useless talk about the drug.

Give me a break. If the police were even smart enough to know what a guy on PCP is suppost to look like under the influence of said drug they wouldn't have said something so blatently ignorant.
Read any report of PCP use by personal experiences. People can hardly move on the drug because of the strong dissociated stoning experience.

Okay I will give the story the benefit that it may be true when I see a reputable source but my guess is this is just another one of *those stories* just to shock people and further demonize drugs.

PCP depletes all of the B complex vitamin, the fact the human Brain needs these B complex vitamin to work correctly.
By him taking the PCP he made himself crazy, which is only temporary, never the less he took these drug on his own, and so is responsible and subject to crimnal charges.
PCP does not cause brain damage like say cyrstall-meth.
There is current research being done with PCP as link to possible cure for Atzheimer's.
Back in 50s PCP was used on human during surgery, but stopped because of the Psychotic effect.

If nothing else, I would think the father should donate at least one of his eyes to the child.

Then I think the father should be beaten, repeatedly.

Please, someone tell me this is a hoax.

Well lets hope it is. It very well may be true but people should not forget how many fake stories have been made up surrounding PCP use making people go insane and eating peoples brains hannibal style. Many of the stories of people going crazy and doing these things are instantly associated to PCP use when later it is found out that the person may not have been on drugs and was just crazy to begin with.
Either way the story says "police assume he was on pcp". That doesn't mean the guy was, nor does that discount for the fact that he would have to be completely nuts in the first place to do such a thing - I don't care what drugs he was on.

Truly disgusting...
The sad part is, these type of reports seem to be coming up more and more frequently.

I dont know if its the media just publicizing these things more (what was that old saying? "if it bleeds, it leads") or people are just actually getting crazier and more disgusting.

I hope this guy fries for what he did, but it really doesnt matter because nothing can ever give back or fix what this sicko did to this poor child.
