have any one had any stories of meeting a spirit

here is my first encounter. there has been many stories of spitits of deseased famally members visiting the very young. here is mine!

with me my familly passes a gift of seeing spirits. it is stronger every 2 generations. i thankfully am not in that generation but some of it has leaked through to me.
my first encounter i heard from my mum wen i was 10. here goes..
my mum woke up one night hearing me crying. so she got up and went to my crib room and stopped outside because..
what she heard was me crying and a voice in the middle of a sentence saying.... ...go back to sleep christerpher, dont wake your nanny up.. and i stopped crying and went back to sleep.
she later added that it was my dead grandads voice and for your info. my grandma was in the house asleep.(so was my dad lol)

this was my first encounter of the other world.

I've not seen anything, but when I was 10, "something" whispered my name, but no one was there.

However, my daughter (11) has seen a ghost a few times. Her school is haunted. The first time, she saw a figure (child size) wearing jeans and sneakers walk through a wall. She only saw the leg. But, the other kids with her saw the whole figure. They all screamed.

Then, she saw a black, misty figure in the same location. It was there, but when she looked again...it was gone. Then she saw it again. Looked away then back, and it was gone for a second time.

The rumor is that a kid did died in the school a few decades ago.

She also saw a black figure in her old school. They were having an "intruder" alert drill. The teacher had them go into a large closet and sit on the ground. Turned off the lights. Locked the door. They are supposed to sit there quietly until they get the all clear. So, they're being really quiet until some of them saw a black mass, darker than the darkness of the room...and it moved. They screamed, which freaked out the teacher.

The last one could have been over-active imaginations and a crazy shadow. But, she says the other two still freak her out just thinking about them.

I think children might be able to see what adults can't. They haven't been told not to believe.

I saw my dad and cousin shortly after their deaths but before I knew they were dead. I was also haunted by my childhood best friend... that story is written in the short story forum as a work of fiction, but it is based on factual events that happened to me.

I have had several encounters like that as a child that i would describe as ghosts. But a more recent one turned out to be a freaking reptilian O.o. He did look like a ghost at first ...

moving black mass this is a vidio showing an example (not the best) but it clearly shows it sweeping over.

I've had several 'encounters' with what I think was a spirit....here's one...

In college I had a dorm room that was in a cottage separate from the regular dorm.....there were 5 of us living in the cottage, including the instructor. My room was at the top of the stairs to the second floor, and from my bed I could see the landing clearly....no one could come up the stairs and go to their rooms without me seeing them.

One night I had returned earlier than my housemates, but waited up to hear how the 'blind date of the week' had gone......I passed the time reading in bed, watching the landing. Finally I heard them come in and climb the stairs....but just before they came into my view, their foot steps receded.

I jumped out of bed, calling out to them and ran down the stairs, thinking that they'd detoured back down to the kitchen for a late snack......but there was no one in the kitchen, nor anywhere else in the house.....when I checked outside, the only car in the parking was mine, and it was then I recalled that the instructor had mentioned that she'd be going home for the weekend....so there was only ME in the house.

Puzzled, but not particularly scared I went back to bed to wait.....and again the footsteps came firmly up the stairs only to again fade away . This occurred once more before my friends finally came home.

When I recounted my tale, they were mostly skeptical and I'd begun to believe it had been my imagination until we hosted a dinner party for some department faculty.....My roommate laughingly recounted my 'ghost story' to our company but one retired elderly instructor nodded her head!

"That would be K_____ making her rounds. This building used to be an infirmary, and K____ was the nurse who lived here......you're not the only one who has heard her."
