Once a black man became president all the rednecks revolted. It had nothing to do with politics, just race.

What a simple little flat world you must live in with ignorant ideologies like that. I hated Bush (a white guy) just as much.

It has only to do with policies not skin color. Grow up.

Earthman has been alerted for political trolling.
Here we were having a good conversation, then the trolls came running. Then again, having ATS points in the negatives already indicates this.

I really doubt the truth in this posting. Those who came back from the war DID NOT take their trusted weapons home with them.

"Here you go Joe you did a good job and got out alive so you can take this government property home with you in case the SHTF someday you'll need it."

Please don't insult the intelligence of some of us here on this forum.

This is why I am hesitant to chime in with you all here. You seem on the surface to say it's about Americans taking back our country, but this is clearly a "right wing" thread. I want to see ALL Americans stand up against the corporate owned government and their greedy, thieving masters. But I do not buy into the values most of you who are vocal about revolution right now seem to demand. Praising Texas, but bashing California. That's not unity, in any way shape or form. So is the "right" gonna do this by themselves? If you are successful in taking the powers down all by yourselves, will you turn your rifles on those of us who are not Christian and who are not interested in "conservative" values?

I am as angry and ready to rise up as the rest of you, but the only 'values' I share with you all is a love of guns and the outdoors, I have a TRUE desire for this country to be what it was supposed to be, the LAND OF THE FREE. I am very confused about who is the enemy in your eyes though...

Who said it had to be the one the Govt. issued him? You can still buy an M1 Garand to this day...

Aside from that you obviously have no idea what you are talking about. My grandfather kept a Japanese officer uniform, a Japanese rifle, and a Japanese sword from WWII.

Fair enough... was definitely a open very non-pc jab on my part. I am however kidding. I have many friends in California so I wish no ill-will on them or anyone else. However I do hear many horror stories of the general attitude of the populace of San Fransisco in particular aside from what I have seen for myself.

Come on, there are plenty of people on ATS who bash on Texas too and it never bothers me.

Oh and just for the record, I am certainly not a 'Christian.' Not that I have any problems with Christians either. =)

Point is, the belief in freedom is VERY non partisan and includes EVERYONE.

If you really understood what our founding fathers were trying to do then you yourself would not necessarily agree with what california has become. You see it as a "rightwing mentality" ONLY because it doesn't agree with YOUR OWN perception or agenda. But believe me when I say, many of us here don't like republicans either. Many of us want to bring back the constitution the way it was pre 1900's which means, you prosper by your own fruits and labors, not because of affirmative action or some other non-sense policy that liberals thought up. If you can't understand that, understand what the constitution is about, and all you want to do is continue bringing up the same kind of policies that ruined this nation (along with the policies that republicans brought) then we all know which side you'll really be fighting for.

It would be best served in that case, for california to simply be it's own entity, separate. I wouldn't want Fascism to sneak into this country again by using california as it's base.

I would ask each of you to consider this organization and their directive to uphold the Constitution.

If you have a friend or relative in the service or law enforcement to please consider the ‘Oath to Protect’, and those who have decided to follow the men and women who are also Oath Keepers.

You may remain anonymous if you wish, but please do not leave tyranny and socialism for our children.

Spread the word and do the work, if not you….. then who? There will be no generation following who will understand what they have lost, nor what has been sacrificed for this country to maintain freedom and our liberty. Indeed, our children are spoiled and self centered … but like sheep waiting for the wolf …. They understand not.

Consider, isn’t it odd that some federal agency could read this and put me on a ‘watch list’? .. Just for wanting to follow our Constitution ?
Are you afraid ? Should you be ? …… What will you do if the ‘chancellor’ should find out ?

OATH KEEPERS:

Military, Veterans, and peace officers who will honor their oaths to defend the Constitution, will NOT “just follow orders,” will stand for liberty, and will save the Republic, so help us God. Our motto is: "Not on Our Watch!"

Oath Keepers is an association of currently serving military, veterans, and peace officers who will fulfill the oath we swore to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so help us God.

Our oath is to the Constitution, not to the politicians, and we will not obey unconstitutional (and thus illegal) and immoral orders, such as orders to disarm the American people or to place them under martial law and deprive them of their ancient right to jury trial.

If you, the American people, are forced to once again fight for your liberty in another American Revolution, you will not be alone. We will stand with you.

There is at this time a debate within the ranks of the military regarding their oath. Some mistakenly believe they must follow any order the President issues. But you can rest assured that many others in the military do understand that their loyalty is to the Constitution, and understand what that means.

The mission of Oath Keepers is to vastly increase their numbers. We are in a battle for the hearts and minds of our own troops. To win that battle, Oath Keepers will use written and video testimony of active duty military, veterans (especially combat vets), and peace officers to reach, teach, and inspire our brothers in arms in the military and police to fulfill their oaths and stand as guardians of the Republic.

If you are currently in the military, are a veteran, or are a peace officer, please consider you are the last line of defense of this nation.

OATH KEEPERS: ORDERS WE WILL NOT OBEY

1. We will NOT obey orders to disarm the American people.

2. We will NOT obey orders to conduct warrantless searches of the American people

3. We will NOT obey orders to detain American citizens as “unlawful enemy combatants” or to subject them to military tribunal.

4. We will NOT obey orders to impose martial law or a “state of emergency” on a state.

5. We will NOT obey orders to invade and subjugate any state that asserts its sovereignty.

6. We will NOT obey any order to blockade American cities, thus turning them into giant concentration camps.

7. We will NOT obey any order to force American citizens into any form of detention camps under any pretext.

8. We will NOT obey orders to assist or support the use of any foreign troops on U.S. soil against the American people to “keep the peace” or to “maintain control.”

9. We will NOT obey any orders to confiscate the property of the American people, including food and other essential supplies.

10.We will NOT obey any orders which infringe on the right of the people to free speech, to peaceably assemble, and to petition their government for a redress of grievances.

Ummmm...My uncle still has my grandfather's GARAND and a Japanese rifle..an Arisaka ?? that he brought back..whether he did it with permission or not I can't say but I have in fact held both rifles and can tell you that yes some did bring guns back with them.

I'm not sure were gramps got the Japanese rifle. He fought in Europe not Japan, but that doesn't take away from the fact he still had it

Horror stories about attitudes? The city is pretty much 'anything goes', but that shouldn't create horror. Gay activities are as repulsive to me as any other straight male, but it's not my business what happens there. The thing is, there are many different attitudes and beliefs in this country. None of us benefit from the government that has evolved over the past century, only the elite prosper here. They keep us divided along these liberal/conservative lines intentionally. Anybody who truly wants revolution, should make their PRIMARY mission to end the division of the people.

I have to be honest, I don't see revolution happening. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Most of this is big talk, nothing more. Nothing but the sort of nonsense that pushes some McVeigh type over the edge.

My family was a part of this country's first revolution, one major, one captain, and three militiamen (ranks not known). Those men, and their wives, had guts. Now, all I hear is people making threats.

Do you realize a lot of the early revolutionary activity was NON violent? And only after a long list of usurpations did we take up arms. Granted we have witnessed abuses by police and government officials but there is still time for peaceful revolution.

Be that as it may, most of this "get my gun" talk is just that...talk. But, good luck with explaining your revolutionary intents to the authorities. Quack, quack, quack.

No that has nothing to do with what I am talking about. Gay does not bother me at all as I am quite secure with myself.

What I am talking about is their attitude of socialism and their righteousness and hatred they spew when don't do it their way.

For example, a friend of mine was telling me how his friends were almost yelling at someone for wanting to get a bigger car that was less fuel efficient (that is getting a vw station wagon instead of a civic because they had another kid on the way).

I had another friend had someone literally throw a water bottle in his car by a prius driver because he was driving a dodge viper which is not fuel efficient.

There are many many other stories. I don't get mad at anyone because they do not concur with my beliefs.

Thanks for proving my point. There will be no true unity with this mindset, and without unity, any revolution will fail and be seen as fringe terror attacks that will be crushed with the support of at least half the population (myself NOT included, regardless of who's side you accuse me of being on). This really does look like a tantrum thrown by the right, not a true desire to change things.

Obviously you are missing the point of this thread. That is we must continue to do peaceful protests and find public officials with morals.

No one here is condoning violence unless in self defense. The difference here is we are discussing after that line has been crossed, again, only in self defense.

That door definitely swings both ways.

For example, a friend of mine was telling me how his friends were almost yelling at someone for wanting to get a bigger car that was less fuel efficient (that is getting a vw station wagon instead of a civic because they had another kid on the way).

Easy solution, hold up fist toward them, extend the middle finger as HIGH as you can get it, smile, and buy a Hummer.

I had another friend had someone literally throw a water bottle in his car by a prius driver because he was driving a dodge viper which is not fuel efficient.

This account reminds me of a South Park episode. But if some skinny little vegan hippie threw a bottle at my viper, that little prius would lose a window. If the hippie tried to take it any further, a good old fashioned fist fight would ensue, with the hippie wishing he hadnt started that fight, lol.

There are many many other stories. I don't get mad at anyone because they do not concur with my beliefs.

That's good, you shouldn't. As long as youre living right, youre good.

What is most unbelievable is the anger and pent-up resentment of traditional God-fearing Christians who never set out to offend anyone.
This is a very true statement dooper. I live in Florida , which is not really the south in a way, but there is surely something in the air.
i believe when some people get pushed past the edge, the SHTF. i think we are close. I think the far left just doesn't realize how serious some people get when you talk about taking away their gun rights. These people are serious.
what many people don't think about is that the gun rights are just the tip of the ice burg. The Obama team is pushing for total control, and makes no bones about it. And the tell us its for our own good. The boys in Washington have no idea what they have stired up.

Just so it is understood... I have some very "liberal" views and some very "conservative" views. At this point our views on religion and abortion are irrelevant if our basic freedoms and civil liberties are taken away where we can not even have our views expressed.

Let's restore a constitutional government that doesn't steal my money and then we can go back to arguing about abortion, religion. and whether people suck more in Texas or California.

I truly want everyone in San Fransisco even to be able to maintain their freedom of speech just as much as I want mine.
