I can only hope the 73rd day will be the end.

Can't stand a whole lot more of this crap.

I feel your pain, it has been a strange and bizarre two years.

Everyday some new weirdness rears its ugly head,

I'd be remiss not to ask the groaners who are complaining about the political satire at the WH Correspondents Dinner, how do you like it when the shoe is on the other foot? ( At least none were thrown.)

The complaints of poor humor and defense of Rush Limbaugh remind me of that clear liquid that oozes from a bottle of mustard before the good stuff comes out. Little substance.

ON TOPIC:
IMO, the Wanda Sykes comedy routine was pure comedy gold and the reactions to her humor involuntary.

REGARDING HER STYLE OF HUMOR:
"If something stinks, I say it stinks. But I try to massage it a little and not be as cutting, come behind it with a joke: Hey, I cut you deep, but now let me put a couple of stitches in you." - Wanda Sykes

Mission Accomplished...Regards, KK

I think President Obama made a nuanced religious joke about the number 72 which has been associated with the number of virgins people may get as the smallest reward in Heaven, according to interpretations by Islamic critics.
If you think the concept of 72 virgins is not that well known or has not been in the news that much (especially after 9/11), then search "72 virgins" with quotes in:
-MSN and you will get over 30,000,000 results.
-Yahoo and you will get close to 900,000 results.
-Google and you will get close to 200,000 results
-AOL and you will get close to 30,000 results
-Ask and you will get close to 30,000 results
There has even been books, songs and movies written with 72 virgins in the actual title in recent years. The show Family Guy even had a skit on it.

For those who may not know, President Obama's religious reference in his joke was "and on the 73rd day I will rest" which refers to God resting on the 7th day of creation, according to the Book of Genesis.

Is he going to claim that he randomly picked 72, which was followed by a religious reference??

I made a youtube video about it,
search "Obama makes fun of muslims"

Good god people! You might have looked into this a little and found that he hired the Leno writers to work up his little comedy bit. He didn't write this stuff! It came from Jay Leno's team of writers...so I guess now they are in on the whole numerology, masonic symbolism thing as well? The Leno writing team? Really?

I knew this would show up on here.

I laughed. I thought it was funny.

And now I'll laugh twice as hard, because people either missed the joke or are reading too much into it.

And since I started this thread I guess maybe I should take a bow??

I'm sorta embarrassed (only a little, that's what this site is about) oh well lets give Obama his 4 or 8 years and then pull him to bits and / or shower him with rose petals.

How about we just judge this administration on its own merits, hmm? In 2012 we'll do the dance again, get up off our asses and vote. Or stay home and bitch about the results...

Here's an email i received yesterday ---sounds like too much of a coincidence to me with the self deity reference. but whatever . . .

Pope Benedict to receive US president Obama in July ( Date--Significant?)

Please notice who the president is meeting with last, before his day of rest so to speak. Low and behold, his boss.

www.earthtimes.org...

Obama made it very clear on his 100th day in office that he is "remaking America." He didn't say rebuilding, but remaking! Does Obama consider himself to be the Mighty Maker?

While honoring himself at a dinner commemorating his 100th day in office, Obama said the following words: "I would like to talk about what my administration plans to achieve in the next 100 days. During the second 100 days, we will design, build and open a library dedicated to my first 100 days. I believe that my next 100 days will be so successful, that I will complete them in 72 days - and on the 73rd day I will rest."

(4) The inference of deity here is obvious, but why the 73rd day? The 100th day of Obama was April 29th, 2009. Seventy-two days added to that brings us to July 10th, 2009.

Obama intends to rest from his creative labors on Saturday, July 11th. Saturday is the seventh day of the week, but in addition to that, we must consider the date itself as 07/11/09.

Since zeros must be disregarded and since witches use backward masking, we find that if we look at Obama's 73rd day backwards it is 9-11-7. The number seven indicates sanctity and completion, and we all know the significance of 9-11. What is this man planning?

There are 100 parts to understanding this.

No. I'm just kidding. There are only 2 parts to understanding this.

One part
of understanding this
is the reference to the number 72.

If I say the number 365 you might think about a full year.
If I say the number 360 you might think about a full circle.
What is occulted from common view is the fact that the number 72 is also used to reference a full circle or a complete cycle.

Somebody mentioned the world being created in 6 days and on the 7th day the Creator rested. So, now you can see how Obama can mention the number 72 in the sense of completion, and then he can joke about resting the next day.

The other part is the first part, which is really only an interesting fraction of a larger part, but of course I am not going to explain it here.

However, I do wonder if anybody reading this knows what I'm talking about.
