Hi rich! Is this what you're meaning?

Well, this so called 'moon banding' is nothing but loss of scan pass data from Clementine. ArMaP pointed this out too. So there are no goodies here to see!!

Cheers!

Mike:

Again, you are mistaken. Why didn't you examine the examples shown on the second article on banding? It shows clearly the effects of putting the film together and it is TOTALLY different than what is seen here.

There are NOT structural anomalies associated with the film strips...there is just a small area of blurry, very thin, where they meet. Examples are shown on his site in the same article. My eyes may not be perfect by I examined this closely and it is totally different.

Mike, I have too much respect for you to leave you thinking this is all there is to this. Please go back to the pages involved and read and look at the pics that show film strips being joined....and then look at these pics again. I am sure you will see the difference. it is plain and clear.

look at the pic you posted Mike...Why would the terrain look exactly like two different types of land form alternating back and forth to identical types if it is only edges of pics being joined? Never before in all the pics I have seen has there been a phenomenon like this at joining edges.

Don't dismiss this so fast, Mike....I KNOW this is not just film artifacts. Check again and then tell me that the pcs of the joining and the exact same as what is shown here....you cannot.

Also....how do you expalin the rectangular and right angles all over? Film edging does NOT add square detail to frames...Mike, you need to dig a bit deeper bro.

Ok, rich! Can you post the particular image/s you feel is the 'smoking gun'?

Cheers!

It looks like you did not saw (or you just ignored it) my previous post.

No, these are not the marks of the joining of the photos taken by Clementine, they are probably the result of the smaller images used to create the 48 MB image that was used. It also looks like the compression algorithm was not working as it should, creating smudges on the areas where it had no data (the large rectangles) and probably it was not that good at compressing the edges of the smaller images, but this is just speculation.

But what I do know is that if you follow their indications and, using version 1.5 of the Clementine Lunar Image Browser, you use the coordinates they provide, you can really see those lines, but try clicking on it and the browser will show you a real photo, without any vertical lines.

For people used to see compression errors, it looks just like that, the result of a bad algorithm.

Also, as I said in my previous post, at 1 km per pixel, those lines should be visible from Earth.

The site is not down, only the reports area, as he says.

The website is currently experiencing problems accessing only the reports function while everything else works. This is allegedly because the host server was experiencing excessive traffic hits via this function.

It may be the result of someone else's actions against his site, but that only the responsible for the server(s) can say.

Just seems a bit strange when the Mars Critter section went up the server went down after a few days.

I do not no # from clay regarding servers or his position but if his server did go down why the hell not the rest site of his the web site?

I´ve kind of found those strange martian forms (like a "martian caravan") some years ago (the one in the Sol 1070 pic).

I CANT find the original thread, but one of my theoryes were that they were sand dunes, almost equally distant by wind effect.

One of the supporters of my teoiry was that they are several other pics, taken some minutes or more later, and the forms were there, inaltered in distance and shape.

Going to try to find that thread.

Sorry for my english.

Nope! They don't allow it! But some manage to slip out during the coffee break! The technicians in NASA's imaging section do err at times! And, to err is human!

Cheers!

I suppose you have some evidence that shows that these "slipped out" instead of being released like all other photos, after all, you wouldn't say something like that without any evidence, right?

I think the golf ball domes is the biggest hint yet, geometrically shaped (clearly) on both planets...hmm

We really only have images of the surface of 2: Mercury and Mars. The surface of Mercury is still not available in the same manner that Mars is due to the obvious (more missions to Mars for study vs. Mercury). Of those two, we see a golf ball dome on Mars for sure. There is nothing yet to indicate the same can be said of Mercury.

Is there a golf ball dome on the Moon? I seem to remember seeing one...but cannot be sure. I know there is another one somewhere in the solar system, if not on our moon. I cannot recall right now, but i am positive that another member will be able to.

Since i promissed i wouldn't break T&C because i don't agree with ATS staff for temp-banning MikeSighn, i think i found a loophole through which i can express my anger without getting banned unless bumping a thread is considered a violation of the T&C....

So as a member of the ATS in-house resistance party i'm gonna shamelessly bump each and every thread Mike made (that's lot of bumping!!) every day untill Mike's return and would like to ask everybody to look into this and form an opinion about wether or not the actions taken by ATS staff were just....

Here's the thread i'm talking about...

As GoldenFleece put it :

There's absolutely NOTHING about this thread that could be deemed a "hoax."

Shame on ATS for their censorship.

Peace
