When my fiancé was in high school, one of his childhood friends (his best friend) committed suicide. My fiancé was devastated by his death and had difficultly coping, but came to accept it after time. He graduated from high school, and from there began commuting to a local university for college courses. During this time, he received an odd phone call late at night (He says it was around 1 o'clock in the morning). My future father-in-law answered the phone, and upon hearing that it was for my fiancé, handed him the receiver. My fiancé claims that it was his deceased best friend calling, and talking to him as if nothing had happened. He greeted my fiancé by saying, "How are you doing, man? We haven't talked for a few years. What's been going on?” The conversation took place as a normal conversation between friends would, and they both said their good-byes. Afterwards, he was frightened and has not mentioned it to anyone except myself since. He insists that he heard his deceased friend's voice distinctly over the phone, and has not gotten any more calls such as this. As far as I know, he did not inquire about his friend's location or why he had called. Nevertheless, he was disturbed by the call and swears that he telling the truth. I am inclined to believe him, as he is not one to weave false tales or trivial ghost stories.

I thought it was a beautiful ghost story.

No, your not going to get flamed.

My fathers side grandmother died on 12:00 AM 2000. Pretty odd timing infact, she died the second it turned to Y2K.

At 2:00 am, my family got a phone call from her, talkin about how great the fireworks were there, note this was after the fact she was dead.

For about a month to two months after she called weekly with updates, it was so bizarre, it sounds nice but it was hard to cope with the death, since she was still calling.

My family being a well reasoned family, had the phone number cut away and everything after the first week of the death. The same number would be calling everyones phone simulatenously. I'm getting chills still talking about it.

As a strict atheist *questioningall, I have change from agnostic to atheist* this shakes me up very much. If I die, and my phone is disconnected, would you be surprised if I called you my voice talking about events only before my death, unaware of the after my death portion. I would and am!

This phenomena, I would call stupid, but it's true, it happens if I hadnt' experienced it myself i'd believe it worth nothing.

We've talked to the service provider, they have no records of a call from that number ever coming to any of our cell, house phones, but we showed the house phone and cell phone, records of the call, they wouldn't comment on it. It's very bizarre to say the least.

I as well had a story of a male friend who committed suicide on a Sunday Afternoon when I was 14, at the same time were were to go to a movie. In those days a person did not receive counciling.

Anyway, years later when I was 35, this 19 year old girl answered my personals ad, and through a strange series of events had sat next to me at the same bar the night before I returned my call. She had never been out in the city before this night, and knew no one, and ended up at the same bar of hundred's and sitting behind our table.

I lived in a New Province at the time, and this girl was born 40km from where my friend committed suicide. We went for dinner, she was an amazing young woman. A year later I caught on, and decided it was reincarnation, and we were destined to hook up for one last meeting.

So anyway, years later I decide to write the suicide part of the story. And as I finish, I am not sure why, but I search the net for his name, and his mothers obituary came up. She had passed away one year to the day before I wrote that story. Coincidence, maybe, but it sure was neet in many ways.

Makes you sort of suspect parallel time lines eh?

I mean lets say on some reality Y2K had enough of a problem that it has split the time line, and in one your GrandMother was living and the other one she had passed away. And somehow for that short time these two timelines intersected. So, the question is, could she still be living in that other time line. Maybe the time line we are writing this in right now, is not your original time line.

I love it, absolutely adore it!!!

You my dear friend, get added to my friend list immediately!

It makes since, it's clear, two branches of the universe broke off, but in the stitches time intersected. Well my brain is just running in high gear it's hard to put down, but this well has fluttered my brain with reasoning and rationality.

God how could I have not seen something like this!

After religiously watching Michio Kaku, this should of been clear daylight to me!

Wow, paradigm shift. Simple enough.

These things happen for sure.

When my sister died, all the alarms in my brother's house went off that night and when the alarm guy checked them the next day, he said that there was absolutely no reason that he could see that they all went off. Actually, he said it was impossible.

On the morning of my father's funeral while sat at home, all the electrical devices went off all of a sudden so the immediate thought was some electrical fault. Went to the fuse box and as everyone knows, when something has "tripped" electrically, one or more of the fuse switches will be found in the "off "position. They were all still in the "on" position, including the main power switch, despite nothing electrical working whatsoever in the house...lights, tv, toaster etc...nothing. I should add this was preceeded by a very strange and overwhelming sensation my Father was in the room where I was sat watching the TV before it went off. The energy "wafted" into the room and caught my attention shortly before all the electrics went off without tripping a single fuse box switch.

I phoned a shop in the village to see if they knew of any power outage....no. I stood on the doortstep to see if any neighbours were about to ask them...a widow across the road was on her porch so I called across to her....nothing wrong in her house. I go back indoors, perplexed, then within a couple of minutes everything turned itself back on .

Across town in the house where my grandmother and uncle were waiting before leaving for the funeral, lights were behaving oddly for a while in the morning, going off and on by themselves. Coinicidence ? I think not.

I've numerous other ADC stories in a thread I started some time ago which you can find if you go to my profile and click the "threads started" link.

Talk about a forced memorial! Well your father must of really wanted to stay alive in your hearts and minds. It's bizarre. Trully bizarre.

Pondering Soul, There is alot of negativity, I follow the simple rule of "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all".

I'd say 99% of my debates on here have been with Reasoning, and empathy based. Although 1% not so much otherwise my points would be at 4000
Had 1000 taken off. If it matters the other guy started it.

Very interesting. Thank you for sharing. I have heard before, people claiming to get phone calls from deceased loved ones, although in the stories I have heard the deceased one was VERY hard to hear clearly and it was incredibly staticy and the phone call usually lasted just long enough for the dead one to say one single thing, then it is over.

I do believe such things are possible but I wonder of the possiblity of it being some sort of cruel prank by a friend.

It apparently spooked your fiance enough to only tell you, but I wonder what was going through your his mind as he talked to his dead friend on the phone. It does seem a bit odd that he carried on a conversation with his dead friend and acted as if there was nothing at all unusual about it.

If I got a call from a dead friend (and I have lost a few my short 21 years of life) I would be thinking at first that it was a cruel prank, and I can not see myself carrying on with him as if nothing is wrong.

If I truly believed it was my dead friend, I would be asking questions such as, how is this happening, How did you make this call? What , why etc...

I do have another question I just thought of. Did this call happen before or after caller ID was popular? Did he have caller ID at the time? If so what did it say?

Interesting, perhaps it was his way of letting you all know he is more than ok now.

Thanks for sharing that.

As I think about this more and more, what If we had told the deceased one there were, well deceased. I haven't heard anyone do that. Just kept it basic like nothing was out of the ordinary.

Which makes me think, what if I called a friend, he drops the phone as I hear it, he says this is a sick joke, I say no? He says you've been dead for four years! Its 2015! I say your sick i'm not joking, whats going on, are you coming over for the party or not. etc etc.

That would spook me. Parellel Universes, bizarre subject, with mind boggling questions.

My brother Bill dreamed that our deceased brother, Greg, came to him with a open wallet and asked him if he wanted some money. Bill said "No, thanks." He did remember the dream and told his wife about it after a couple days. She about lost it when she got the mail that afternoon and found a check for Bill from Greg's estate.

Just a dream??? No way!

This thread, of all the threads i've read, which is nearly all.

I enjoyed this most of all. The posters make it that much better, I hear Nickelbacks- If today was your last day.

This makes me think about death, parellel universe, molecular observation, quantum mechanics, lack of self. More and more, I wish I could keep flagging it!

If you could call someone in the past and tell them of the things to come even just a personal level, would you, why what would it change. Leave no stone unturned.

Wow, this thread is staying in my recent posts, I want to see everyone put something toward this. It seems an irrelevant thread, not much to talk about but, it's very deep, its as deep as you make it.
