Computer Attacks While Viewing Swine Flu Info

Computer or Swine Flu forum ...

Has anyone else experienced attacks against their computer while on sites that have information about the Swine Flu? While on ATS threads about the Swine Flu? Since last night I have been hit three times.

Last night I got nailed so hard it was like the computer was sludging through mud. I ran the checks and it said that nothing was there. I understand some sites may be slow due to heavy volumn .. but the computer says at the same time that it's twarting attacks.

Today the computer is running fine .. but I keep getting hit with warnings about my computer being attacked.

The latest was called bloodhound.pdf.10 ... whatever that is.
(I'm not a computer person)

Not to sound paranoid .. but of course I am ...

Anyone else getting hit with computer bugs while visiting sites with swine flu info?

Well I think the disinfo agents have come out of the wood work here on ATS trying to get people not to panic. I know we have trolls but we didnt even see this many trolls during the situation with russia going into georgia. So I dunno. I doubt theyd take the time to attack one computer though.

I have been having the same problems.

Its at a much higer rate than normal.

That's why I started this thread. I was wondering if I was the only one.
It seems to hit when I'm on any site talking about Swine Flu.
Of course ... I'm there a lot right now ... so it could just be a matter
of me being there most of the time yesterday and today ...

but that's what I was wondering .. if anyone else is getting nailed when
going to these sites.

I'm not a computer person so I have no idea if 'someone' could bug
a site like that.

Would not worry about it, someone just doing a random scan to see if anything is opened, either way im sure hes going through a proxy so the info above could be wrong but then again you never know.

edit: Is showing russia but showing Luxemburg as source of origin, just another spam attempt.

off topic, is it me or is you avatar not working ?

I had something very odd happen to me today here on ATS, I was replying to a thread about the flu, just wondering why no sporting events had been cancelled etc, I hit post, and a message came up telling me a thread about that subject had already been posted, and to read the recent thread list.

I have never ever had a message like that, even when I have posted something that has already been posted, ever, never even heard it mentioned.

Maybe someone knows what that was all about? was almost like my post was being read while I was writing it, the message was instantaneous.

Anyone else have that happen?

This morning my computer was extremely slow. I live in central Virginia, and when I contacted Verizon, I got the "All Circuits Busy Now". We are on Fios and the computer would connect to google but not go any further.

They fixed whatever problem they were having, and I later heard that the internet was running out of bandwidth. Is this anything related to what you were experiencing?

There's an ad before you sign it that is really agressive, some joshmadecash crap, I wasn't even able to log in because of it and gave up on trying to close it and minimized it instead so I could actually log in here. That was apparently a mistake as minimizing it got me about 12 popup windows and a weird file named joshmadecash[1] on my desktop that has no known file associations. I meant to add it to SO's ad hitlist but hadn't got around to it yet, could that be causing some of the problems mentionned?
SO if you happen to catch this post, nail that sucker!
