Wow. So you have no respect for the people that died, lost the loved ones or got injured?

Any word on the driver of the car? Was he Native Dutch or an immigrant?

why would you say that?

its so sad... that little girl.... bodys flying....

i wonder if anyone ever thinks that today is the day i get smashed to death by some jerk....

my thoughts are typically on the 30,000 that die of starvation because of royal families and such, but when you see the little white girls twisted in the officers arms i got all misty... my thoughts go out to them

mad world

The Guy in White who's on that Bike next to the monument I bet is counting his blessings right now, reaction like a Cat when he saw that Car coming for him.

You said car wrecks make you laugh. I interpreted that as not showing respect for the victims of this event. My apologies if I misinterpreted that.

Notice in the video after the car crashes a large crowd rushes to the car. As soon as the first onlookers arrive and look inside they begin motioning for people to get away from the vehicle (maybe they see explosive material?) Maybe the driver was shot before he could steer into the royal bus and detonate explosives?

If this was coordinated might want to watch for the next shoe to drop? Multiple targets?

Hopefully it is over.

I don't think there were explosives, the EOD (dutch explosives team from the polices) examined the car and didn't look like they found something. However, the bus with the Royal Family was 20 minutes late, so it seems to coincedental for that car to arrive at that time, so I think it was an assault.

It's a very weird thing to see this happening... I'm dutch so I watch queensday on tele every year + celebrate in my own town. I'm not a big Royal Family fan but it's a cultural thing to me. A party for the people in the Netherlands. It's not only an assault towards the Royal Family in my eyes but also an assault to all citizens celebrating queens day.

The attack looked so amateurish that I highly doubt it was coordinated.

Regarding the identity of the man: right now we only know he is white. Rumors are that police have already raided his home address. Based on the license plate, bloggers have found the surname of the owner of the car, which isn't reported stolen. The surname sounds Dutch. The family listed as living at the registrants address also has a Dutch surname.

I'm speculating that it was a lone native Dutchman possibly with psychological problems.

A new update

BULLETIN -- FOUR CONFIRMED DEAD, 5 CRITICALLY INJURED IN DUTCH QUEENS DAY INCIDENT.

URGENT -- Dutch police official says the Queens Day incident in Apeldoorn was deliberate but refuses to say if it targeted the royal family.

What a horrible thing to have happen, but who would want to harm them? The Dutch (like the Swedes) love their royal families, they are normal and hard working people who care about their constituents unlike some others we could name.

Here is a video of the royals as they witnessed the shocking moment,

www.rtl.nl...

A visibly shocked Queen Beatrix, in her first response since the attack, says she is "speechless".

The attacker has just been charged with an attempted attack on the royals,

As far as coordination goes, in the original plans the bus would've passed that point 20 minutes earlier. The suspect apparently had a schema with him, so he knew where the bus was going .. I'm not sure how secure that information is supposed to be, but surely he wasn't being random.

In a nutshell, it's a confirmed attack on the royal family on the day we're celebrating them (sort of - of course it's also just a national party). Best thing we can do now is try not to get a collective trauma..

Some politicians and other people were still speculating though.

They said that the man said "It was deliberate", but many are still speculating as to whether he meant a deliberate act against the monument (Which he collided with head on), or a deliberate act against the royal family.

Though it is easy to conclude that it's an assault on the royal family, I thought people should still know that some are still speculating on his true motives AND intents.

Funny how it still took quite some time before this story got reported on ATS

More info from neighbors and others who knew the driver:

He was recently fired from his job at a security firm (whether or not this firm was involved with the Queens security isn't known yet) and was soon to be evicted from his house due to his inability to pay the rent.

Furthermore, he was divorced and not allowed to see his children.

Again, these reports have yet to be confirmed.
