At this stage, closing the border would be a futile, knee-jerk, reaction.
The contagion is already in the U.S., and more specifically, in California, closing the US/Mexico border would not prevent the spread of the
disease.
In fact, any drastic action, such as closing international borders, at this point would only serve to increase the mounting public perception of
danger and risk mass panic.
The horse has left the barn and jumped the fence, it's far too late to close the barn door now.
