Pirating and the Lend-Lease Probability

We all know the Iran-Contra Affair is non-disclosed.
With Somalia Pirates, and other forms of weapons trading, could we be seeing this Millenia's version of the Lend-Lease Operations, circa World War II:

where supplies totaling in the hundreds of millions in net worth are boarded in hostile waters with as few as four gunmen.

Insanity. They might as well have gift wrapped that stuff, in my opinion. And, that area is known to harbour warlords, willing to fight mercenary battles. And, Italia conducted some of it's operations in that very region prior to the second world war being formally declared.
Economic drives, and the spreading of war like ambitions, it's all too reminiscent.

WTF are you talking about, the Lend-Lease program was a way for the countries resisting nazi expansion to aquire much needed supplies, whithout having to payback the debt.
What does that have to do with a bunch of kaat headed pirates in africa.
Or what does it have to do with the iran-contra scandal.

What you should be asking is how do all of these chinese/russian (soviet)/north korean made assault rifles and rpgs and 12.7mm machine guns keep getting into the hands of every two-bit idot with a grudge against his neighbor.
