I was in tech school at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Illinois in the late 1970's.
My entire barracks was given the swine flue shot.
It was just after I got married so I was moving off base.
The shot got me & many, many others very sick.
My new bride called into the base emergency room to take me to the Hospital.
They said "Only bring him in his fever went over 106.
We are swamped.
There is no place to put him.
Don't bring him unless his fever rise's over 106."
It stayed at 106 for a day or so.
God I was delusional for the last 24 hours.
Then just as they said.
I got better & dragged myself to back to work.
Without going to the Hospital.
I heard back that the only people that got sick were from Michigan.
That the Food Program in the schools had been slip'ed Kangaroo meat,
that was repackaged as Beef in Canada.
It was high in protean & one of the State Up'ity Up's had convinced that it was ok for him too pocket a few bucks in the process.
Besides it had higher protean than Beef & less fat.
Well the scuttlebutt was that the vaccine had been somehow done in Kangaroo's.
That those students that had been eating it developed some kind of thing that caused us to have the reaction.
Was this BS just to shut us up?
Or
Is this a good explanation for the reaction we had to the vaccine?
I only bring this up seeing the posts about the mexican swine flu outbreak.
