still wondering if there is any real news on the confrimed cases, not just the party line" responeding well". if any are getting sicker or what

Seriously...one would "think" that "they"in the US would at least have the local and national news "inform" the sheeple aka general population that this IS a real flu to be aware of,to be dilligent about hand-washing and contact with people who might be ill,and to just spew some of the possible preventive measures that might,just MIGHT reduce the severity of it all?
Naw...they'll wait until all hell breaks loose then muck it all up big time.
No one...absolutely no one I know besides myself is taking this seriously at all.
I have severe asthma and bet me buddy I'm playing it close and safe as possible!
Do they really "fear" over-reation all that much that it's worth saying next to nothing?
And they closed a school-system near San Antonio Texas (Schertz/Cibelo) because they found a couple of cases in a school...no DOUBT no one told the parents of all these kids,who are home for at least a week to KEEP their butts home??? You KNOW it's a big joke/Holiday to all of them and they may well have been exposed.
I am witness to absolute ignorance and stupidity,I swear it.

Ya'know, a couple of weeks ago my granddaughter, 12 y.o., had to stay home from school with similar symptoms. Didn't think much of it at the time, but she said that a lot of her classmates were ill, too. I wonder if that was connected. Food for thought.

The US BETTER close the southern border now!!!! Maybe they can also get the drug cartels "taken care of." Good Lord this sounds bad.

The bbc had a blog of people writing in from mexico and the death toll is much higher... in the hundreds if not thousands.. doctors, nurses, it's getting everyone that's healthy.

the WHO already said closing borders and restricting travel wouldn't help. It's already happened. So closing the border does nothing.

Honestly think this is going to be yet another thing we talk about in a year when listing off instances of people overreacting.

My husbands family live in Mexico city. They have been sick for several weeks and they have told us on Saturday that the numbers we have here in the UK are nothing at all like the actual numbers of sick people over there. They said that many are sick but they aren't going to hospitals. We haven't been able to get in touch with any of the family in Mexico city since Saturday on home or mobile numbers.

MEXICO CITY.- Archaeologist Felipe Solis Olguin, director of the National Museum of Anthropology (MNA) since year 2000, passed away in Thursday April 23rd 2009, due to cardiac arrest. At the time of his decease he was working as a curator in the exhibition “Teotihuacan, City of Gods”.

He died for cardicac arrest, not for the flu according to this website

Does anyone else see a bigger picture here?

I posted this in another thread, but does anyone else see how if you were trying to engineer a One World Dictatorial Police State, War on Drugs, War on Terror, Global Warming, Economic Meltdown, Nuclear Proliferation, and now a global disease pandemic would be a wet dream come true...

Even watching this thread and people already calling for travel to be shut down, that is freedom of movement.

I hate to a theorist, but given the current state of affairs I find this whole situation to be quite an amazing coincidence.

As this thing spreads I would be paying VERY close attention to the government's response.

The Russians, especially the Russians, and the Chinese should already know if the virus was bio engineered and have a good guess where it came from.

Whether or not they disclose that information is another story. If they can capitalize off of disclosing the information with little risk in return, they will do so. If the risk is too great they will remain for the most part silent.

I have a question.

How do we know this started in Mexico?

Someone just said we really are not sure.

What if we took it there with all the springbreakers, and their immune system was not able to handle it as well as ours.

Sorry if this question seems silly, or has already been asked.

Just seems odd to me some of them are dying, but none here.

Aeons may have been referring to an interview with General Honore on CNN during which he questioned the origin of the virus. He mentioned that it has not been proven and thus the possibility that it was created in a lab should not be dismissed.

Troubling but as I saw during the hurricane season, General Honore (a frequent hurricane expert on news stations) is prone to hyperbole.

I don't know who the guy is. Black guy who was speaking on behalf of the Government, followed by a blonde guy. it was streamed live on CNN, and the ticker did not identify the speakers.
