Scotlands contribution to the advancement of the world in areas of industry, science and economics is unparalleled the Agricultural, Industrial Revolution and the Enlightenment. I dont mean to sound like some sort off crazy ultra nationalist but i would say scotland for what it has given to the world is certainly in the top 3 nations of all time basicaly. Through the British East India company we enjoyed terrific influence and power over other nations obviously as most of it was comprised of scotish bankers and engineers, not to mention the majority of the British Armed Forces at one point[maybe even now still] including the SAS were predominatly scots.

To what extent we are a player on world affairs now though?, hmmmmm. Though the templars may have built Roslyn Chapel in scotland for reason entirely other than the fact we got ourselves ex communicated[LOL] so who knows. Most British leaders, scottish or otherwise including royalty are more often than not educated in Scotland. Thats usualy for religious reasons id hazard.

The fact is though we will never know whats really going on.
