Looks like EIT 195 has seen better days.

No, those are official SOHO images, but it seems that the 195 angstrom camera is broken. The 171, 284 and 304 angstrom camera's are still working though.

Those are real photographs, at least the first one.

There's a space labatory in my college and they set up telescopes for the day pointed at the sun for the public to see the that is exactly how the sun looks through those telescopes.

Check out that string of photos. Anyone else see something weird going o? Look at the time stamps - they go in 7 minute intervals for the most part, but then there are huge gaps. Also, you can see a faint circle in most of the photos AFTER the camera would appear to have broken...

in that last pic that was posted there, the camera isn't facing the sun. Here is the whole sequence: soho.nascom.nasa.gov...

If you look at all those pics you'll notice the sun appear in the corners of some of them. SOHO has 11 instruments. Perhaps the probe has to rotate and adjusti itself to use some of the differnt instruments.

hahaha. Well, you could have written a bit more in the initial post. Interesting photos, though I'm not sure what they mean.

What about the Fatima miracle in Europe when the Sun "danced". Anyone ever hear about that?

Yes, but that wasn't noticed all across the world, or at least I don't think it was. That was a miracle of God seen only by the people of Fatima.

No, never heard of it. Care to tell more about it?
