I think it's a trick of the light, see how they look in negative.

Don't they look like dunes now?

I will try to find a better image and an image with similar dunes from Earth that I found some time ago.

This is the image from Earth that I found two years ago.

I know it's not exactly the same thing, but I think it's close enough.

PS: It's in Egypt.

Southern Egypt, roughly west of Aswan.

Looks very close to me. I wonder how the Martians did that.

The one in negative by armap looks a little flatter and less tube like. The others look flat like dunes but the 2 sites I showed looked round or tubular. When I first saw them yrs. ago I thought ancient lava tubes. But then I thought they were too straight and took 90 degree turns to be lava tubes. The ice at the bottom of the one site looks very similar, but they do look round and tubular, so I don't think they are sand dunes. Although sand and snow or ice could be on top in the niches or whatever they are.

From a two-d image you're only guessing that they're tubular. We don't even know which direction the sun is coming from in that picture.

This is the original image with the "tubes", image M0400291 from Mars Global Surveyor.

The only thing I did was convert it from IMQ to GIF and rotate it to put North at the top of the photo.

And photo E2101421, showing the same area, three years after.

They still look like dunes to me.

This is the same area (and the surrounding area), but with a lower resolution, from THEMIS.

In this image we cannot see the "glass tubes", just the crack-like feature where the "glass tubes" are, and I think we cannot see them because they are just small dunes, and with this resolution we cannot see them, only the general look of the are, and we cannot see anything tube-like.

PS: Sorry for not using inline images, but these are large images and I wanted to post them as close to the originals as possible.

Because of the different types of light spectrum used even some big craters are not seen very well either where they are extremely visual in other pictures. The purpose for so many different light spectrums is to view objects that might not be very visual under normal range of our eyes, or did they also photo shop the craters?

I am also with others that I do not see structures, but more natural land formations.

We know, that information is part of the data available.

The arrow points the direction of the light, and you can see that the shadows look correct.

PS: the data for the direction of the light was taken from this page, it's the "Sun azimuth" value.

Thanks. With that in mind I'm still good with striated sand dunes. I've flown over a few in my day.

Those are intriguing but they certainly could be dunes or something natural.

I saw amazing patterns in the "Dune Sea". One area looked like a giant fish, with scale the size of tennis courts that stretched for over a mile. Another place had a cross-hatched design. Very weird.

LOL never realised my directing you to that website would cause such a stir, I think MAR is a great site, the best mars pics ive seen on the net, wether these pics are 'anomolas' or not I dont really care the fact is they are interesting, so ngchunter your comment was not needed, in fact go and waste your wrist space somewhere else.

I've been using Photoshop for well over ten years and I'm not seeing squat. I'm not trying to be deliberately obtuse or anything. I just don't see anything unusual in these images. Definately not anything that screams "photoshoped".

Same here, I use a similar program to Photoshop called GIMP, it's a freebie software.

Although the video doesn't really show anything to be honest. I would have expected something better from the hype of this title. No offense.

Don't get me wrong I am very interested in this subject. And I have seen some proofs of these things, but not this time unfortunately.

I hope you see the original photos after seeing them on MAR, the photos they show are highly altered.

And I hope you keep your information updated, they do not do it, ignoring updates on the information discussed, unless someone else tells them that.

Hi ArMap, I was directed to MAR by someone on utube I think who said this website had some great mars pics, so I tried it out and thought it a great site, I dont know if MAR alter their pics they may do they may not, I like the mystery myself but I do find them interesting none the same, I believe that there is/have been civilisations on mars and prob most of the other planets in solar system and universe, but obviously thats what I believe and everyone has different opinions that is fair enough and I should not have jumped on ngchunter like i did because he/she has their own opinions whatever. I just feel so frustrated not knowing the truth about whats really going on out/up there, and when I see pics like that I think Mmmm somethings going on, I wish I knew the truth I really do

p.s have not seen original pics
