Well, to start off I have only been reading ATS/BTS for about a month now, and have only been posting since yesterday so I'm pretty new here. I have noticed that it seems that a lot more people prefer ATS, there is nothing wrong with that and I like ATS too.

But the problem with ATS is that I'm pretty new to all this stuff so I don't know a whole lot about all this conspiracy stuff, and half of it I either don't care about it or people have already said what I would have said.

Though with BTS it actually has topics that I want to post about it, and I love pointless chit-chatty threads, and BTS seems to be more relaxed discussion board than ATS.

So are there others who like posting here than ATS, or am I the only one???

Hey there, welcome to our family here on this wonderful site!

It's always good to see a new face, and if you have any questions about this site, just let us know.
On your topic, I enjoy both ATS and BTS my self. It all depends what your interests are. ATS is the main area for conspiracy and topics dealing with UFOs, 911, 2012, etc. Where as BTS is more laid back, talk about your pet, your computer, your favorite drink, etc.
If you want to research some thing, just use the search and you can read up on some past topics.
Hope you enjoy your stay.

Well thanks for the warm welcome!!!

And I already figured out what the different forums are about. And I'll probably post more in ATS when I start to know more about the topics.

But I decided to create this topic after I noticed that my screenname was the only one in the latest post for about 8 threads in a row and wanted to see if any one else preferred bts over ats.

I'm not really used to stuff like that because from the other internet forums I have been on there usually are more people posting at the same time I am.

Ahh I see what you mean. I think that most of the people that register here at ATS stick to the ATS portion of the site, not all mind you, but most of the long term members stick to both.

I used to like ATS but then it turned into an ignorance ridden screaming of the end of the world fear mongering fest. I always look at it though but BTS is much more...relaxed.

I came to the site for ATS, but after a few months of hoaxes and other crap, I just tuned out and came to BTS.

The only times I ever go to ATS are for the Board Business & Questions forum and when I'm bored I might look at the actual alien/conspiracy stuff.

Welcome aboard babe.I personally prefer BTS cos to be honest it's a load more relaxed and fun so look forward to chattin' with you on here. I do check out ATS usually on a daily basis but a lot of it is major gloom and doom.On the other hand a lot of stuff on there is pretty informative as well.Depends what mood you're in.

Comparing ATS and BTS is like comparing apples and oranges.

They are totally different.

I always soak up everything that interest me daily in ATS then visit BTS.

It's obvious I post more in ATS than BTS. I feel very comfortable roaming around the topics in ATS.

I visit BTS daily but don't feel comfortable here. It's like I'm on the outside looking in.

It's like one big happy family here and I'm not a part of the family.

I did try to join in when I first joined ATS. BTS seemed like so much fun.
I finally gave up and just usually read the new rants and chit chat posts.

It's like a club...it's fun if you can get in. I couldn't.

I'd have to agree, the two are very different and I'm sure we have a number of members who prefer BTS over ATS. There are some people who are very active on the forums and very rarely venture over to ATS.

I've always personally preferred ATS overall, but post in BTS when something catches my eye.

You know, that saddens me. I'd say give it another go. Sometimes it just takes some persistence, and I think the way to do it is to participate in the threads you find interesting. Eventually you'll catch a rhythm and find you feel comfortable from participating whether you're getting the frequency of responses or type of reactions you expect.

I'm not saying my way is the right way. I post for my own enjoyment. If someone else jumps in, that's great. If not, well, no one cracks me up like I do anyway.

I know what you mean. As you can tell from my points I don't spend much time in BTS either. I'd say just read what you find interesting and reply to it. Don't try to steer conversation because it won't work.

I gave up too. The little family basically make or break a topic here on BTS and unless you are part of that family nobody posts in your topics.

I've posted several topics on BTS that have had 0 replies, and someone from the 'in crowd' posts the exact same thing maybe a week or month later and it turns into a 20 page thread. Probably a bit of a broad generalization, but I'm only talking from experience.

Don't give up, guys. If you post it they will come. Or something. (Can you tell I've been in a Movie thread?
)

I know it can get discouraging when you create a thread and it seems to languish. We've all been there. It's nothing personal. Sometimes things just inexplicably seem to take off with a life of their own. I wouldn't worry about anything but participating where you want. That's what will make you comfortable and the more interested you are, the more interesting you'll be.

I'm not worried about it
It doesn't bother me really, I just wanted to tell the other poster they weren't alone.

I think it is a good thing members have made strong bonds and a tight community here on BTS.

They just need to open up membership registration again that's all

I prefer BTS for posting as it is more casual but spend as much time reading ATS, I just don't post as much.

BTS had been accused of being a clique but I have only been made to feel welcome (by members). On the other hand some of the seriousness on ATS tends to make me (and others I have talked to) shy away and not post for "fear" of being ridiculed... ridiculed isn't the word I am looking for but not made to feel welcome for sure.

But to each his/her own and I am stubborn enough to keep at it.

Welcome Nick I hope you enjoy your time here. As far as which do I prefer. Depends on if I want my blood pressure to rise or lower. On this side of the board you really don't have to worry to much about defending your self till the bitter end. I would say that I have met more people on the BTS side that I would call friend because your guard is down your mind is drained and you just babble as I am doing now.

If your not thick skinned then ATS is not for you. You just have to remember you believe what you believe and there is nothing wrong with it. I really get a good laugh from all those on the "Dark Side".....er I mean ATS who take this personal. Who try to make there self feel better by belittling everyone who doesnt agree with them.

Now that I babbled enough the answer to you question is. What the topic is.

PS Whatever Blogstalker told you just ignore it she is crazy

Hello Nick...

Good to meet you. I hope you have fun here, and post lots....!

I seem to be in a BTS phase just now...it does change from time to time, but I find it much more relaxing here, and like Ant says...ATS can make the blood pressure spike a little. I also think that there is very little I can contribute to on ATS just now...it's not always like that, but I'm reading and not posting at the moment. It's ok...there are still some very smart and funny people here.

Well, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who prefers bts.

And the comment about it being to cliquey that tends to happen on a lot of the other discussion boards I have been on. And usually the best way to get in it is to post a lot and people start to notice you, unless this board is a more exclusive than the other boards I've been on.

On a side note Ant what exactly are carrot points???

It's just a joke. Instead of brownie points its Carrot points. A member named Carrot awards them. Part of the apparent "clique".

I wouldn't so much say that BTS has a clique, it's just a lot of us post in the same thread and get to know each other. It's no different than say the Three word story. You have a lot of people that frequently post in it and get to know each other.

Besides with a friends list and foe lists and ignore capability of course a certain amount of cliqueness is going to happen. Like minded individuals are going to stick together.

No matter what all one has to do is show up and post and all is well. We are on this side to relax anyway.

Lately I have been posting in bts.Ats gets to be a bit much sometimes and when I need a break I come here.
I do notice its a bit of a clique as well but I don't mind that at all.
I like being able to post on some non-conspiracy type stuff as well and I get that here.
