Looks like I forgot to come back here and report that we had a great time in London. Though the trip was back in early July I still remember it as if
it was just last week.
I didn't get a chance to visit some of the places I was hoping but still had a great time. The folks in England really are quite friendly and very,
very helpful, even though they might be heathens. ha!
Seriously, the Brits are very friendly.
I know what you mean about the French, we were there a few years ago and some of the folks, especially waiters, can be a little rude initially but
they come around after a while. You just got me started on this subject so I can honestly tell you the French have nothing on the Spaniards.
We went to Madrid, Spain about a month after London and and I was seriously disappointed. I don't mean to offend anyone from Spain but it is what it
is and I can only tell you about our experience.
People in Madrid are rude, rude, RUDE, extremely arrogant too and not ashamed to let you know!
Ex 1: I ask a question in Spanish and they reply in English! tisk tisk.
The common folk don't want to help with directions, waiters don't want to take your order, cabbies don't want to give you a lift.
Ex 2: The hotel restaurant host tells us they can't sit us but to go to the bottom level bar to wait. We go to the bar to have a drink and a
snack, we try to order what the other couple was having and the smarmy, gay waiter tells us we can't order that.
Excuse the frick out of me!
To cut a long story short, we had a family emergency and had to cut our "vacation" short.
Sorry Madrid, never again will we travel to that city of yours.
The only good thing about our trip to Spain was an ORB that came up on a few of our photos.
I'll post these soon.
