The Sling Shot Man

Rufus Hussy aka \\\'The Bean Shooter Man\\\' is an expert marksmen when it comes to sling shots.

He makes his own out of dogwood since 1946. He shoots down weeds, hits quarters in the air and nicks bugs off of leaves. Quite impressive.

It almost seems like an extension of his body, he doesn\\\'t use his eyes to aim.



A good sling shot could really help out in the wild.

instictive shooting like that is sadly a lost art now adays..everyone wants sights and lasers on everything that shoots..I had one of those sligshots when I was young..Very powerfull for what it was..

I had one of those ones with the folding arm brace - black widow I think it was called - made the time old mistake of lending it to a friend... Never say it again, and he could never hit a barn door at 3 foot.

But that kinda instinctive thing does come with time - infact aiming and think does seem to get counter productive.

I'll have to get another one some time.

Ole' Rufus was on the Carson Show once back in the 80's, showing off his skill as well.

Sadly, The "great bean shooter" has passed.

I would love to own one of his handmade slingshots though.
