Well they weren't doing it in, or near, any major metropolis. It's highly suggestive that whoever, or whatever, was behind it all wanted to be arm's length from civilisation and technology. If you remember, Vallee did some 1960s paper on the higher frequency of UFO and humanoid encounters in rural areas. It's always been a thing, debatable, but there.

If it was some black operation like a hybrid MKULTRA unethical military exercise, it would make sense to do it all where getting out would be easy and getting there (for Brazil forces) would be hours.

If it was visitors from elsewhere, they also seemed to want the security of an isolated, rural setting. It reminds me of why big, stately homes get burgled. Big takings and the police response takes long enough to allow robbers to leave the area lol.

I'd actually love to write it off as some Skinwalker (or Varginha) type pulp narrative if it wasn't for actual evidence that events occurred and the interviews with Hollanda et al. You're right imo that Colares should be more well known. It's a very curious business.
