Hi all. I saw a strange, silent, but bright, white light in the sky for 3 mornings in a row in the pre-dawn hours, as I was travelling to work that
week at My job at Osram Sylvania in Danvers, Massachusetts around 12 to 13 years ago. I was approximately 38 years old at the time and I am now 51
until next May, 2010. That unexplained and completely silent "light" sat exactly in the same spot and did not move at all for the whole 3 days. I
had just an eery feeling that first day and I opened my car window and looked up and hung my head out the window further to get a better look. I had
no clue what it was or why it was just "fixed" what seemed to be over what I estimated to be at least maybe 6 to 10 times higher up in the sky than
the tallest trees in the area around the vicinity of the route 97 and route 133 areas those days as I headed from Georgetown to Danvers,
Massachusetts. The light was to my left outside and above the driver's window of my car. I had to go in to work early that week to start our overtime
hours before our usual 7 A.M. start time so I had to be on the job by 6 A.M., actually working. Although I was a little awed by it and mystified... no
STUPIFIED to explain it, it just "hung there" in the sky and the light was steady and unwavering each and every time I saw it over the entire 3 day
period and since it didn't bother me, I didn't worry about it any longer, but it was just freaky, to say the least. I got to work each day and
worked at least 12 hours each day, and I said nothing to anyone about it all those long days. On about the fourth day (I think "the day after", so
to speak), as I got to work, over about 10 guys in the very large machine shop/assembly area end of the Equipment Development Operation site (as that
particular Sylvania plant was known) were huddled near the large Lathes and one was excitedly saying "see... it got into the newspaper!" as he held
up a small local newspaper from another neighboring town of Ipswich, Massachusetts that, as I recall, had some sort of a medium light-blue colored
header or cover segment on the front page and a headline near that top section that read in bold black letters "Strange Lights in the Ipswich Woods"
and an article that seemed to try to discredit it and make a comical tone about the whole affair. I remember it was a small weekly or bi-weekly type
of a publication with a small-town circulation rate. I had left that company after that and never talked to any of my former coworkers that day even
about it as I had to hurry and punch in and get to inspecting the machinists work immediately and was so busy. I have tried all kinds of creative
searches online to see if anyone at all had reported it and I am well-above average in performing extensive internet searches in many various search
engines, meta-search engines, and web-crawlers as well as University sites, publicly accessible government sites, and even other government
web-portals and international language sites online. To date, I have not reported it anywhere else or talked to a single soul about it. I am finally
posting it here only because I stumbled onto this site just a while ago and feel it is, perhaps, one of the best venues which to make a permanent
record of it now. I am Carl Straus and I posted this today, October 28, 2009. I would like others to investigate this as well, and I can't find even
that local "townie" newspaper online. I believe it became defunct long before anyone built a homepage for such a small, insignificant paper that
probably closed down operations (or was closed down) long before this writing. Thanks for any other info on this incident. P.S. I don't think I was
abducted or anything, at least in my conscious state. I have no "symptoms" or abnormal cares about it other than it was just plain STRANGE and not
talked about much anywhere else, to my knowledge!
