The Plundering of America

Is it not against our general economic structure to endorse socialism? Is it not against the very economic liberties for which our forefathers have worked and bled to adopt such oppressive constrictions of our economic freedom? We have several programs, right now, dating back to just a few decades short of a century now, which have and still are bankrupting us. How is that so hard to see? Medicare, medicaid, and our insecure social "security" take up more than half of our federal budget before the stimulus or other socialistic and corporatistic programs such as subsidies to convert food into fuel?

Oh no, these "socialists" are not socialist at all! This "Democratic" party overwhelmingly voted to increase our national debt by nearly a trillion dollars! This is the party responsible for FDR's regime, the party that sat by as we were dragged into the bloodiest war in human history, that sat by as we sent our own citizens to concentration camps, that sat by and willfully submitted to the greatest utter disregard for our constitution and the wills of our forefathers in the history of our country! Oh, hate the Republicans as you will, and let no one stop you, but understand that these measures given under the guise of "helping the economy" and the guise of "socialism" in private circles is in fact a corporatist, a fascist, and Nazi-esque merger of the government and the corporations that allows nearly limitless destruction of human rights through not only political and civil totalitarianism, but also economic totalitarianism as well!

What in God's name are we thinking? We sit by as our country is torn to shreds and every single one of our sons is born in hoc to bankers, to foreign bankers! How can we live with ourselves if we continue to do nothing?

Continue to drivel about the failures of capitalism, about what is and isn't socialism, as you will. And continue to close your eyes as our nation, the cumulative efforts of those countrymen who came before us, is ripped to pieces by those who would have our country in perpetual servitude to those we are now perpetually indebted, all because of the incompetence of our politicians, our so called "representatives!" Or is it incompetence, is it something else? Who shall we blame for the surrender of our nation to those who control the international banking system?

Remember, who was it that ceded control of our economic system to international bodies?

Remember, who was it that encouraged companies to give loans, such as mortgages, to people who were unlikely to pay it back? Who sponsored the Community Reinvestment Act? Who was it that ignored the cries of an impending financial meltdown and rejected greater scrutiny and regulation of the financial sector?

Remember, who was it that created the government-sponsored enterprises, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, warping the entire financial system of our country?

Remember, why are we forced to pay for the destruction of crops to be converted to fuel, when there is a net loss in such a process and it lowers the efficiency of our cars?

Remember, why we pay into a broken forced investment system where our money is spent on others, and then beg for it back?

Do you remember why we've so willingly, and carelessly, surrendered our freedoms to the care of government over course of seven decades?
Or, most importantly, do you remember the cost of liberties once lost?

Speak now, else your sons will be forced to speak with their blood.

I am so beyond pissed with our current political status and the lack of our congressional leaders having not one principled leg to stand on. While giving our personal freedoms away to other countries, without any oversight. All in an effort to acquire more votes to get re-elected, at the expense of American citizens. Other nations are viewing us as cowards because we cannot stand on any principals or the laws of the land. Our government bends our laws and takes away our rights to suit their political agenda, and we just give it to them on a silver platter. I am ashamed of what this country has become. A corrupt, greedy, self profligate, corporatist, selfish, stumbling, demented, child king, of a nation with no back bone. Situation discussion.

Do you really believe that these drastic spending measures were done frivolously?

We were hours away from the total collapse of our financial system. Not only here in the US, but worldwide. I'm not sure if people really get that and what it would have meant. I'm not sure that the pain we feel paying this tax burden is in anyways comparable to the pain we would feel if there was total economic collapse.

Of course I'm not happy about spending the money. I grit my teeth to think of the bankers, the financial gee-wizzes and all the 'haves' that associate suffering with losing a million - and walking away with more money than you and I will ever see in our lifetimes. It feels unfair somehow.

And I recognize that taking the other path is an unknown - we have no idea how bad it could be to tell these folks to suck it up.

But it could be worse than we can imagine. And take decades to recover from.

So what do you do? Do the only thing you know that can possibly prevent this from happening? Or let it all fall apart on the chance that it won't be so bad and that people with nothing won't suffer more than those with millions?

Could you imagine being the president and telling the nation, "I'm sorry, we're going to let come what may and may God help us all. Hopefully, it'll get better in a few years."

Could you imagine the criticism of inaction?

And what if there is no best answer? That we have no solution that will fix things? No path to take that won't have a cost? I fear that that is where we are now.

all i can say is, politics is so disgusting and dirty now that it will make anyone puke and go mad about it.

the question is why arent americans (US citizens) doing anything about it?

The democratic theory is a flawed to begin with. There is no way that you can make a decision, either right or wrong, without stepping on somebody's toes. You can tell somebody that their vote matters but in reality it's a give and take way of running a country. No body will ever be content with the goings on because they are being forced to tolerate things that their morals don't allow.

Such as: the raising of state tax in Ca (i never recall a ballot), the patriot act (enough said), and now a president who thinks he can "change" the world.

Honestly, how can the American people put up with such b.s.? Seems to me that we as a people would rather follow blindly the fool with a big stick than try and make a better future for ourselves.

This is the same reason why the founding fathers of this country left England. If they could see how far we've fallen they would call for a mass exodus and leave.

In my honest opinion, I'm surprised that nobody has done that yet.
