We are not Evolving we are Extincting.

Just another way to look at things.

Think how many species are dying off already because of man. The more we populate the more we kill off natural habbitats of animals. Look at how many animals we have put onto the in danger list on our own doing.
Look at how many trees we have cut down and how much oil we put out in the environment. Oil spills in the sea, oil in the air we breath, the ozone the ice sheets. The rubbish we throw in the sea and the toxic chemicals we put into the land.

Who says we are evolving? Looks the opposite to me it looks like an extinction process, because if you look at our nuclear Weapons, the threats the sanctions the unpredicatable mad leaders who say one thing and do another. Experiments that could damage the world like the CERN experiemnt, who says it's stable and reliable too?

Look at GM food and genetic experiements and tampering with nature, who knows how it will effect the natural processes in the long terms.

Are people sure we are evolving because it sounds like the next extinction to me.

yep. its a pretty much scientifically proven fact. the Holocene extinction event is pretty serious. were looking at roughly HALF of 1998's bio diversity to have died out within the next 100 years.

The Great Pacific Garbage Patch sounds like an episode of peanuts with charlie brown, but it is very real. This is why i HATE people who litter and morons who buy cases of bottled water by the truck load.

Bottled cases of water may be a blessing in disguise because where I come from they put floride in the water which has its own long term risks if people like to go deeper into that subject. But yes I know what you mean.

Good thread Time Lord. Scientists out there are going to make the human race as we have known it either extinct or evolve into a new race.

Look at all of the fruits and vegetables that we eat. The government is letting scientists mess with them genetically and by hybridizing. Soon, none of the seeds from what is produced will be able to produce anything, and then there will be an extinction. The government needs to step in and say no to genetic manipulation of our food supplies.

Yeah I pretty much came to this conclusion around age 14 back in 1996. We're dumb, arrogant, and out of touch with nature. Go through the seven deadly sins, we're basically in love with them all. Not to be religious, but I do think their is some basic knowledge that can be applied which is timeless.

People are in love with their self. We've got pseudo-spiritual movements which amount to a complete acceptance of denial to what is, preaching the exact opposite. We've got societal programming which is nothing short of insanity, plus our leaders are psychopaths in suits. Possibly pawns them self.

Either there is an elite sick, sick group that is guiding along our demise, or humanity is just a little child playing close to an open barrel of gasoline, flicking matches in random directions. Either way, the future looks bleak.

I'm about dead to this sick world anyways. Sure, I can enjoy the bliss (ignorance) as well, but I come straight back to reality and realize that it's all down hill from here.

Once again, it all comes down to this. We're dumb, arrogant, and out of touch with nature.

It is interesting how this extinction event is occurring the way it is right now. It really got me thinking about past extinctions that have taken place in the past.

If man and his civilization is causing this current extinction. I wonder if their are similarities of this extinction with any of the many other extinctions.

What I am getting at is , what if the mass extinctions are caused by civilizations of intelligent beings not unlike our own civilization have been responsible for the die offs in ancient history.

I am not saying civilized humans have been around for every extinction, I am saying that another life form could very well have become civilized and "ruined" the earth previously. Be it a reptile , fish, mammal, marsupial, arachnid or insect type.

One would have to understand why humans became civilized and intelligent in the first place and weather or not another species could have done something similar. I believe there is vast evidence we are the way we are is a evolution selected us as exactly what is necessary to adapt to different climates and food supply. Could the genes necessary for adaptation be the same genes ultimately responsible for mass extinctions. We almost adapt to different circumstances too well. Too well for the Earths own good it seems sometimes.

There have been various descriptions as humans being a cancer or a virus to the Earth. Not unlike the way a cancer or a virus spreads out of control unbalancing the equilibrium of the natural flow of energy which in we call nature. I tend to think of us more as regular animals than a cancer or virus, something has just mutated in gene or genes that act somewhat as a curse to our own existence.

The one argument of evidence against this theory would be that there is no evidence at all of ancient past highly technical specialized civilizations.

A counter to the argument against it would be if the civilized beings used biodegradable materials instead of our normal metals and concrete type materials. Their tech could have simply biodegraded away shortly after their civilization vanished.

Past extinctions have proven that life eventually does find a way and start booming again. So I feel this extinction we are currently in should be no different. After the majority of life has passed , the remaining will find a way in this vicious cycle we call life.

Just a couple of questions.

How many of you posters voted in the last city/county election in your area?

How many of you got involved in the election process and worked you butt off for the candidate you deemed was right for the job?

Did you give money to any political party?

Did you drive people to the polls to vote?

In order to change our world we must change our leaders.

It can be done. But we must take a stance and form a solid front to elect the better man/woman.

WE must support our candidate with our time and money.

The political machine in place now can be broken. But it will never happen if we don't get involved.

Stand up or shut up. Get involved or get buried in the present political condition.

I don't believe we are in danger of extinction for several hundred years. If we act now we can change what's happening.

Please don't sit there and grow a callous on your rear end, do get involved and elect new blood at your local level offices and support them to go on to one day represent us in Washington.

Don't complain about the elections being rigged...............make noise and fix the problem.

Don't let the political machine survive to destroy our country and it's people.

While I whole-heartedly support your spirit and efforts to change the system, it's too corrupt, controlled, manipulated, etc...

If I may ask, did you vote for a 3rd party or one of the two puppets?

I remember an employee of the software company which does the voting actually speaking on MSM a few years back. This guy said it was rigged. Then the president of the company came out and basically dodged the question, saying they were looking into it!

If we are to change, it must be a spiritual change. We've heard the correct words for thousands of years, but few seem to follow well. Do unto others...

We, humanity have to transcend the need for government. Governance of self, is all that's needed. The idea that central control is necessary, at all, is an illusion. We humans are incredibly diverse, and can take care of our self now.

Communities should replace governments. Ideals based on what truly is best for everyone in the community.

I didn't vote. That's my vote.

I remember reading books about big cats when I was at school, Lions and Tigers almost joined up together as to their travels and population areas but now Tigers are almost gone, what great animals they are and what a shame to mankind's self destructive ways. But today they put them in zoos and they get this, the Liger.

do you realize how important genetically modified foods are doing? that doesnt mean people who eat it are gonna be FREAKS, GM foods allow FARMING to yeild more food for our ever growing society, it also lets crops that dont normally grow in harsh conditions to thrive and feed the population.

CERN isnt doing anything wrong, you seem to look at all scientific advancements negatively.

nuclear power is safer and better for the environment, but we wont be able to get it w/ people like you who always think "hiroshima" or "chernobyl" the moment someone talks about nuclear energy.

look up Norman Borlock, the guy whose been researching and developing GM rice crops to grow in conditions that normally dont permit plant life. hes helped a lot of farmers from south america and asia to grow rice and other grain. hes helped millions of people.

during the 90s (or 80s i think), they were supposed to send hundreds of donated sacks of grains to africa, only to be stopped by rich white kids who dont have trouble w/ food (no offense) because of fear of people in africa mutating after eating it. dont you think scientists do checks and quality control before they give these?

It's pretty stupid to try and go back to organic production like they did in the 19th century, Anybody who is opposed to GM foods is opposed to feeding starving people throughout the world.

I don't think humanities going extinct! what we should do is terraform another world and move to that once we use up all of the earth resources.

Animals have gone extinct with and without mans help for countless centuries, so why should we be concerned about small changes.

People are still eating of the tree of knowledge of good and evil which is leading to destruction .....(THIS EARTH IS DECAYING AND IS SICK AS HELL so are HUMAN BEINGS ) .....KNOWLEDGE WILL NOT STOP THIS >>......only those who eat of the tree of life will be spared what is inevitable destruction of the entire world .....and the race of peoples who were PUT HERE to rule it (us) who ate of that tree of knowledge of good and evil (By seeking more and more knowledge to be like God even wanting to learn to create (hence manipulation of dna through THOUGHT through our food through scientific means etc (genetically modified seeds,stem cell studies,nano stuff,etc scientific experiments in the air (chemical usage to manipulate the weather) etc) just like Adam and Eve did (we are still eating of it yearning for it and seeking it )etc .....

This was the SIN of mankind that happened then and is happening still ....

the earth isnt fragile. its been here for billions of years. human activity like pollution and all that has only been here for 500 - 2000 years.

Also the earth is FIGHTING BACK from all the pollution and neglect manipulation of man with the plants and animals and resources etc which is why there are so many violent storms,floods etc ....the earth is fighting for its life ....WE ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF OUR LIFE ...........and in the end the EARTH will actually be the one who destroys us..
Gen 6:13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
Revelation talks about very similar events ....and all the plaques which will happen ..the first ones all involve NATURAL EVENTS ....(Fires,diseases,earthquakes etc) which will KILL a third of mankind and a third of all things (trees etc)
The people who are not killed through all of that still get the Lords hand as he reaches out still to MAN TO REPENT which they do not do ...then the Lords wrath is what they get ...(Read Rev it is all in there) ...........

We did this ....we keep doing it ..and we will continue to do it ..unless GOD steps in and RECREATES (So to speak) ......the cycle wont end until
Even if they keep telling us they are doing it for our good and for our benefit and are only trying to have a UTOPIAN WORLD (One they do not have the power to create ) ..............it is all BS >.......the earth TURNED ON US due to what we did to it and soon God will also turn on us since he has HELD LONG WITH US waiting patiently for us to change (which we changed from bad to worse is all we did ) ..........and as so many have brought up we have been here before ...in times past .....this time though GOD says enough is enough ...I am about to CHANGE THIS since yall have not ...

If they can genetically modify plants,water (chemicals etc) we eat and drink these things ...can you honestly tell me that it will not ALSO modify our own cells and dna as we ingest it ? The way we eat drink etc also affects our spirit ..does it not ? and the way we think ...behave etc ? Yes it does ..

Its unfair, but then... that's been the role of Man in nature so far.
