Ah yes, STS-48. In my opinion, this mission cannot be explained via "ice particles" or space dust.
You see, objects in this video make abrupt turns. Infact, it appears that one object shoots at another object (this causes the other object to dodge the shot)
Watch where the beam originates, you can see right when the beam is shot, the ufo right next to it RAPIDLY accelerates for no apparent reason (that is, if it were an ice particle).
Watch where the beam goes, it appears to be on target at a floating ufo, but then, right before it gets hit, the UFO makes an immediate 60 degree turn (based off my estimations) and successfully dodges the missle (or beam, or whatever the hell it was).
Very interesting footage.
