I found this completely to be the words of a mad-man, but I'll see what you think.

According to the founding pastor of New York City's Times Square Church, David Wilkerson, denizens of the Big Apple should stockpile survival gear and a month's supply of non-perishable food in preparation for an "earth-shattering calamity" that could happen at any moment. The threat is not from foreign terrorists this time, but instead from God.

Wilkerson, claiming he was prompted by the Holy Spirit, recently wrote in his blog that "An earth-shattering calamity is about to happen... It will engulf the whole megaplex, including areas of New Jersey and Connecticut. Major cities all across America will experience riots and blazing fires... There will be looting — including Times Square, New York City." (Only a Manhattanite would assume that God's destruction of the world would begin with New York City).

"What we are experiencing now is not a recession, not even a depression. We are under God's wrath," Wilkerson wrote. "God is judging the raging sins of America and the nations...I do not know when these things will come to pass, but I know it is not far off." He suggested that those wishing to survive should gather supplies; apparently the wrath of the most powerful being in the universe can be thwarted by extra water, a flashlight, and a case of beans.

Of course "about to happen" is pretty vague, and Christian leaders have long preached that the End Times are upon us. The Bible clearly states in several places (especially Matthew 16:28 and 24:34 KJV) that Jesus would return during the lifetime of his contemporaries, not any time soon: "Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom," and "Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled." If the bible literalists are right, Jesus is running about two millennia late to bring Armageddon.

This is far from Wilkerson's first prophecy; in fact he has made something of a cottage industry of cranking out bible-based predictions. In 1973, Wilkerson issued a nearly identical message in a book titled "The Vision." He described the great tragedies that would befall the United States if Americans continued to pursue homosexuality, greed, and sin. Nearly 40 years later, the issues include gay marriage, abortion, and stem cell research.

Most of his prophecy did not come to pass, but it is a common theme. Rev. Jerry Falwell infamously blamed pagans, abortionists, gays, lesbians, the American Civil Liberties Union and others for bringing about the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. In Falwell's view, God had enlisted Muslim Saudi Arabians to punish Americans for their decadent ways. In 2005, Rev. Gerhard Wagner suggested that Hurricane Katrina was "divine retribution" for New Orleans' tolerance of homosexuals and sin.

In the Middle Ages, when natural disasters occurred and personal tragedies struck, superstitious minds assumed that the gods were angry. Centuries later, stillborn children, floods, and crop failures were blamed on a witch's curse or a failure of piety. Today science has found natural causes for disasters, yet human superstition still seeks supernatural origins.

They were right..........Matt 24:38

Hmmm got a source?

Just wondering I'd like to read more of what this guy has to say.

Part of me does think that the wrath of the lamb may be upon us.

Oh of course.
The only thing that made my eyes perk up was the fact that I too have a feeling the next big event in this world will or could be a judgement from the christian god.

Especially now that all these peace talks are going on in the Middle East.
Just like it was written 2000 years ago.

There's alot of stuff heading this way, but it's not peace. I don't mean to be negative, it's just i'm deploying with my unit to Afghanistan in Oct. and the way we have the troops set up is baffling! We are slowly circling Russia! I'll be on the front lines for 15 months. I'll be back in 2011 just before the supposed end time. Maybe I'll get some time to set some stuff straight.

Well best of luck to you and others on your tour. My up most respect for all of you. Yeah I really don't see any peace coming in our way, but only false pretense's of peace.

So Russia is slowly being circled.
Maybe to replace our missile defense system with rifle and infantryman?

Thanks for the respect it is hard to find now a days. With most of the threads on here I wonder why I ever joined in the first place, but then I have to remind myself it's for my betterment not anyone Else's. If I happen to help people along the way then that gives me great satisfaction.

Most of us deploying are gun-ho and ready, but we are not sure of our reasons. So we end up blanking that part out. We're not mindless we have morals too.

We keep hearing rumors of impending wars with Russia, China and North Korea, idk about you, but it sounds like WW3.

I agree 100%.
The red horse of war does indeed seem ready to roll on out, and start his reign.

I have a lot of close friends, and I mean I've known these guys since early childhood, who are all enlisted and shipped out throughout the world. They too have told me they're "gun ho" as you said as well, without a real clue as to what exactly their role will be in future world events.

Either way thank you for your contribution to the ideal of america and your selflessness of putting yourself in harms way for the right ideals.

I'm not into frowning upon people's faith, but when I start reading about how God is going to punish us by killing people something is wrong. This is one of the many reasons why people turn from your religion. Then of course you have people raised believing that gays, lesbians, abortionist, and so on should be killed for their evil ways, because that is what God would want.

So God is about to destroy us? It couldn't be us humans that destroy each other or evil beings that hate the human race.
When will people stop believing everything the preacher says and take the courage to question your beliefs to prove them true. Have you ever thought that God comes to save his people before we kill ourselves, earth changes, or from other beings?

That's an interesting take on it.
Definitely not what I'd see as a wrath of the lamb type event though.

But on the flip side I don't see God leaving a cryptic video message claiming responsibility for it, but by that logic you'd have to assume every bad thing that happened was due to God, just to maybe guess the one judgment that truly is.

Not to quarrel at all, but out of curiosity . . . if said "christian god" can bring about all this catastrophic reality we are presently dealing with, shouldn't he/she/it become your (and my) god, as well? Not sure if I would want to be standoffish from somebody who is actually doing serious things in real time . .

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have been feeling the noose tightening in many areas around the world. I feel like something big is about to happen. However, I don't think it will be God made. Prophecies come and go and the overwhelming majority of them never come true.

to the op, Good luck on your tour, but more importantly

Stay Safe.

Thanks. I'll try my damnedest that's for sure.

I agree, we'll be seeing something big happen and I believe we feel it the closer it comes to us. We see little disruptions and the ripple effect will more than likely cause full blown chaos.

Let's just prepare.

I think that the main idea or story is that a major World War breaks out, the "Christian God" who is named JEHOVAH will intervene by sending Jesus (Jesus and YHWH are one in the same to me) and his angels to intervene before mankind eliminates themselves. Of course the near elimination comes only because Satan is deceiving many. Then, the parties at war will be terrified because they see the angels coming in the sky, and they will team up to make war against God (to me this means that these angels will seem like extraterrestrials) and God's angels because they don't know that it is God and God's angels. In return, God will fight back because war is made against God, and then a new earth will be made, the devil(s) will be abyssed for 1000 years, and then set loose for a short season. Now many believe that Jesus and the angels are not aliens, but I have posted in another thread that the bible indicates that Jesus was infact an alien on this planet. Jesus clearly states that "He is not of this World."

Prior to this great war (world war) happening, plagues, famine, and great tribulation will ravage our earth as we know it. I do believe that AIDS, Cancer(s), and other viruses, are plagues. Starvation, slavery, and poverty are very real in many parts of the world. Pollution is the culprit that is destroying our earth's water supply and killing off life in the water, as-well-as destroying the earth's ozone, and the planets soil. Humans are the ones destroying the earth with pollution. There is also Global Warming to consider, and comets and/or asteroids and/or the solar flares penetrating our atmosphere. The bible mentions how all the stars of heaven will fall to the earth. The mayan calendar stops in 2012, and there are many ideas that there will be major catastrophy via space debris. As for where the world war will begin, I think we can look at the major armies of the world, such as China, the United States, and France; since France has a major nuclear facility. There is talk about China invading India too. The news that you have talked about where the United States troops are circling Russia is interesting too. I know that the European Union is a threat to the United States, even if nobody admits to it. Everybody wants control and power on this earth, and great super powers are greatly mistaken because they think that they are in control, and this is their earth, but the truth be told is that we are merely residents of earth, and it is not our earth.

As for God's Wrath, a lot of people will say that all of these catastrophic events will be God's ire kindled against mankind. I must say that I do believe that Satan and his angels (fallen angels; demons) will be the cause of the true holy war. There will be great war in the heavens (the sky, space) when Jesus, Michael, and the angels war with the fallen angels. Yes it is all biblical, but I have very good reason to believe that the bible has so much truth to it. I think it is greatly misinterpreted by many though.

I have had experiences with an entity that uses our technology to haunt and misguide me and I believe others too. Satan's power is futile though. God is in control, and we are just part of the picture. In the end, God is all for us, and Love's us too. We just reason with human emotion, and the big picture is purely inconceivable to us humans. I know in all my being that in the long run, we will all benefit from the events that will come to pass.

Peace be with you in the middle east my friend. It's a great misfortune that violence, war, and such exist. Love is the only answer. We all seriously misunderstand the beauty of our existence.
