Howdo all.

I was just oogling through google sky at the Orion nebula, which looks amazing, and I just noticed something odd.

Here be a pic:

It looks more like an 'object' than the surrounding stars. Any ideas what it could be?

Now I could go say its planet x or nibiru, but I noticed a new little blotch of light under Orion with just my plain eye a few weeks back. I don't know what it is. I have a telescope and I love astronomy, but it can't possibly be Nibiru. nope. NASA's always right, right?

There are two objects. The other is the same shape as the one in the middle but looks a bit further, or maybe just smaller. Could be a wormhole, could be anything.

I've noticed that also, although I have to slightly look away to see it lol. I think it's the nebula itself.

From what perspective/angle/location were the photos took?

It could be a satellite or a bit of space junk.
Y'know, that stuff they keep banging on about that breaks space shuttles and satellites, thats got a whole new generation of space environmentalists all fired up.

Here's a better quality version of the original mosaic from Hubble. Looks to be a digital thingy.

This has come up several times before, but I couldn't find the thread.

The object is probably a new solar system or protoplanetary disc. Against the background of the Orion Nebula they look small, but given these objects are solar systems, it shows how large this star forming region really is.

Here is a site with more info on these objects.

That is an incredibly beautiful image. Thank you for providing that one. Was wishing I had a huge wool top colored like that ready for spinning, its just gorgeous.

Agreed! Awesome image......there's so much going on.
Thank you Phage, and thanks Hal9000 for the link on the Proto-planetary Disk.....definitely seems to be what's in the image

Whatever it is, that full size picture really puts things in perspective.

Absolutely beautiful.

Theres a couple of other little anomolies I spied in there too whilst scouring it (nearly killing my firefox in the process, thats some hi-tec imaging!), no two that I saw look the same.

Probably loads more I missed too.

Wormhole, how about going for more plausable and straight forward reason than clutching at straws its most likely a graphical error on the picture it happens a lot, thats the most likely explanation not nibiru, ufo, wormhole, jumpgate etc, etc!

That is an awesome picture! I have been staring at it now for 10 mins and zooming in on different areas. Thanks for posting this pic. Like another poster said it's their background now, well it's about to be mine on my laptop!

The object is a protostar, or protoplanetary disc, formed by collapsing interstellar medium. This dust will eventually form a star and possibly planets.
