This turn of events is strangely remindful of Z. Sitchin's hypothesis that ET's visited earth 400,000 years ago to obtain gold to seed their atmosphere to counteract their global warming. Seeding our own atmosphere with gold nanoparticles would be a way to control our own global heat balance. Personally, I will become alarmed if next we hear there is a new DOD project to achieve time trravel to go back to a time in prehistory when gold resources on earth were in pristine stae, i.e. not yet mined.
