I have been a long time lurker(duh), I never actually joined "officially". I did have an old account, however, I never really visited often. And compounded by the fact that I have a s**t load of assignments to do and including attending class. But I'm near graduation, so, that's lighten my load somewhat. Alright, enough of my complaints. I wanted to reintroduce myself. And say hello.

Obviously, I spend my time on Criminology(a lot). It's an interesting subject but when it comes to be employed in the field; not too many choices. And people always ask me, "Are you going to be a cop?." I have the same response, no. Truthfully, I don't know why I choose it. Anyways, I'm always been fascinated with politics and philosophy in general. But, that doesn't mean I'm not into conspiracy oriented subjects; that's why I joined. Again, hello. And I'll hopefully see everyone on the forums.

Welcome Student O'....... I think your mindset, as well as your training will be good insight to discussions here. You know the ropes already -- I can tell that by your avatar -- but if there's anything I can do to *cough* facilitate your experience here, please don't hesitate to create a cryptic message to that effect.

Cheers mon

Criminology is more interesting than criminal justice, my minor classes were prelaw. Yours may be one of the few growth industries right now depending on how bad budget cuts are, I know they are building facilities in Florida but can't pay anyone to staff them.
So what is your theoretical orientation, humanist, operant conditioning or "born bad?"

I agree, criminal justice is done right boring. I also never saw a point in a minor. Usually, employers are looking for a degree (major) that is related to your application to the field being applied. For example, a crime scene technician would usually need a degree in biology or chemistry. And that's what I want to do. Well, the field has always been growing only because it's civil service. Anyways, the last question that I would answer is more on the line of the humanist. But that's only because I've never been a big fan of religion mostly. I disagreed a lot on the classical criminology's approach to crime and that same phrase always came up, "born bad". It always reminds me of religion for some reason particularly Christianity and demonology. It's also outdated in my opinion. And operant conditioning is a totally different subject that I would always like to talk about. Excuse my rudeness. Thank you for the reply.
