This has nothing to do with O'Hare or Phoenix.

From your source:

Students frantically climbed up buildings to gain a closer look and reporters, hearts pounding, scrambled for photos.

Witnesses, thousands of them, to this day claim that is simply impossible and utterly absurd: it is common knowledge in Guangzhou that in 2003 an alien spacecraft popped in to say ‘Hi.’

Reports and photos (such as the amazing one below) are all that is left of the event, however the wizened residents of Guangzhou now know they are not alone in this universe and will never forget that earth shattering night back in 2003.

Thousands of witnesses, including reporters and journalists.

There should be dozens of photos and hundreds of Independent eye witness accounts yet all we have is one photo and one article?

The Allnewsweb article links to Sina.com which is one of China main two media groups...........like say CNN. The fact that you can't find it doesnt mean it didnt happen.

you know, you keep saying this...of course it could have happened, but don't offer proof by showing lighted clouds, with no detail, or shape, over a city, and then act all hurt, if the people here are skeptical...hell, here at ATS we're skeptical of 99.99% of all SO CALLED PROOF, there is no "america first and everyone else second type of attitude", we need verifiable evidence, and this one photo is not going to do it.

sorry about the spelling, i need more coffee!!!

Well, where are they?

You don't expect the good members of ATS to do all the scrounging for -- do you?

I know they like to rip info from here, but we gotta draw the line somewhere.

Yeh right, I could post twenty other articles (yes all from China) on that particular event and perhaps if I can be bothered I will.
If you do all the work of All News Web why are they telling you about this story.

You do realise this allegedly happened over Guangzhou, don't you? Guangzhou is hardly some rural backwater. It's one of the biggest cities in China with a size and population not too dissimilar than that of London. It's also home to 'Science City' which is one of China's flagship technology centres. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the people there aren't laughing at your mobile phone.

Ok thanks. Yes it is interesting, though the google English translation is a bit garbled.

If that's the best photo/footage available though, it still isn't entirely convincing. Could it have been some sort of sheet lightning in the layer of clouds above the lower clouds? That would explain the intermittent 'glowing' and halo effects perhaps.

Anyway, I'd like to believe it was a huge UFO, but there is still no great image to be found. Just because its news sourced from China, doesn't mean their papers aren't prone to the odd bit of tabloid sensationalism.

But thanks for the link, it is interesting and I will look into it more.

news.sina.com.cn...

hmmmm, interesting. anyhow, the old link (2003 or earlier) below this Sina UFO article are all linking to different smaller or bigger UFO sightings or articles.

www.google.cn...

if you use Sina's search machine, it links itself to Google China with well the above mentioned links, so be my guess jus to loook at some pictures etc. and feel a bit how much so-called "censorships" there are about. Most of these websites are China based websites dedicated for UFO or related UFO articles/news etc.

I posted personally a few times about Chinese UFO stories, one of which Stephen Chow admitted he saw UFO himself. one of the most famous movie star in China (Asia).

www.abovetopsecret.com...

i can recall i posted a Chinese CCTV (States TV broadcasting station) which reported a UFO with footages in a big city in Hunan province.

and by the way for the ignorant ones, China most likely has the most cellphone users in the world, otherwise I would not have bought China Mobile shares

However, talking about this so-called mothership. Guangzhou is a metropolis with millions of people. I can not imagine only a few thousands saw it for such a long time and no better picture made, my thinking is that most of the people did not know where to go with the sighting, we don't really have a over-famous NASA. In the original Chinese article the reporter does CLAIM that he saw it with his own eyes and that multiple people has seen it, and did provided a pretty detailed report including timeline etc.

Yeah, another interesting one.

All those related articles at the bottom of the original one you posted are all from 2001/02/03...I wonder if there are more recent ones?

I would also concede, if these huge UFOs are thought to be quite high in altitude, it would be difficult on most days to get a decent picture; the pollution/haze around most big Chinese cities can be pretty shocking alot of the time, which doesn't translate well for taking pictures at a distance. Just a thought.

Western media never bothered with this story (OK it made it onto ATS I think) involving a 10,000 man demonstration agiansts aliens and the authorities claiming the villagers confused UFOs for insects (they never saw insects before -the officials stated)

UFO attacks on the villagers? UFO印度杀7人成疑案(图) UFO India, killing 7 people into a mystery (map)

Village collective paranoia?

Last year, New Delhi a "monkey people" attacked the crowd that the police attributed to the collective hysteria, the doctor is also called "the spirit of vulnerable people by the things fabrications."

Is UFO insects?

This year's mysterious attack, the police admit it is probably not entirely fictional. However, the police found was the scapegoat of insects. Found that the villagers in a village had never seen an insect, so police assume that this is probably 3 inches long insects half left in the village rash or skin trauma.

However, this view may not be able to convince the villagers. In the worst-affected areas of Mirzapur (located 710 kilometers southeast of New Delhi), people no longer sleep in the outdoors, the villagers also organized a patrol, beat drums and shouted: "It is careful, careful attackers."

Some people blame the incompetence of local officials, did not seize the "extraterrestrial." Last Thursday more than 10,000 demonstrators assembled people called on the authorities to arrest the mysterious attackers, the police fired to disperse the crowd, killing one person.

Mirzapur are阿布奇扎特officials in charge of the region, he claimed to own UFO has been shot down. (编辑:邹强) He added: "there is one casualty, it will be blocked traffic and attacked the police, blame them not to take any action." Until yesterday not one google reference existed for this incident.

I agree. i spent a lot of time on the web looking for anything related to UFOs, but never heard of it . And that's quite of a passion for me so I modestly think that the thread is done. no offense OP

more information anyone?

HAHAHA, You realize that to the average person in china, the most important item to them is a bicycle. The most important luxury item that they wish for, would be a TV or a Radio.

Cell phones? With cameras? You need to travel more.
