looks like things are about to get crazier in the US. here in southeast asia, theres no panic, no news about G20, no chemtrails, no panic buying, very little economic crisis. only jobs that were axed are from the industrial sector. we have no bailouts too (since were already poor i guess). i read the newspaper 2 days ago and says economic crisis might skip us this year, and on another article says the IMF is looking to influence us more since they have little control here.

ok, ok i've got some good news for a change...i live in stockton, calif. usa. which has been at #1 or #2 in home foreclosures in the nation for a few months. the homes here have been selling fast and furious, and i have had a realtor tell me that they are getting short of the distressed selling that the prices are actually stabilized and starting to go up. however, jobs are still in short supply. there are no food shortages, the shelves are full, ammo is available. businesses have failed, but it's been alot of those businesses that were not doing too good in the first place. lending is happening, you just have to have a stable job. so, on my own little micro scale doom and gloom have not hit...well...not yet.

cigarettes have gone up duetoa fed tax of 70 cents a pack, and food costs have risen, but as far as food you can shop around, the grocery stores have sales and if your careful, you can save. we have a huge farmers market twice a week for the local growers, and the food there has to be in season, but it is fresh and reasonably priced. i'm not saying we HAVEN'T been hit, but it's more like a recession then a depression.

Comparing that to today is just plain dumb. You do realize that people during the depression were raised well and would rather die of starvation than steal, yes?
